Limited Parking will be available around The Pier. Alternative parking is available at Waterpoint or The Hollow at Enniscrone Beach, both just a short walk to the pier. Please allow extra time for parking.

Conditions are looking good for this Saturday. 🤩 There is still time to register with a distance to suit all level of swimmers. There aren’t too many who have gotten to swim in Enniscrone in these conditions captures by Tara Dunne at our swim afew years ago. A story like the one below exemplifies our vision of an island of swimmers....

From Enniscrone Pier to "buoy one" here's my story that has surpassed my expectations and dreams 💬

Last September, I touched buoy one in Enniscrone - something I never thought I’d ever be able to do.

I only started swimming in May 2025 after my daughter convinced me to join Swim Ireland lessons at the pier. On day one, I was terrified - I could barely put my face in the water. I stayed close to the edge, afraid to go out of my depth, but I kept showing up, practising, and pushing myself a little further each week.

There were moments I turned back, moments I doubted myself - but I decided I’d try everything and have no regrets.

Slowly, I got braver. I swam further than I ever thought possible… until one day, I made it to the pencil - and finally, on our last session, all the way to buoy one.

The feeling was unbelievable. Pure pride, excitement, and joy - our own version of Everest 🏔️

I never thought I’d be a sea swimmer, but now I can’t stay away. The community, the cold water, the achievement… and best of all - I can swim 🌊
