The field shelters for the minis/sheep and Chester got a deep clean and new bedding. I decided to go with miscanthus (elephant grass) from Whites Agri.
And Chester is looking so good ❤️

What a way to remember Arthur ❤️ we went out for dressage and it was the girls first dressage competitions and same with the ponies. Sophie and Flex did a great test but he was a little tense. Luna the ever steady little mare only went and came 3rd ❤️❤️ a gorgeous test by her and Orlagh (myself and Arthur’s first ever dressage test also got us a 3rd place).

Arthur (Hillhead King George) - 2013 - 2026
This is a post I never imagined writing. My amazing, anxious, brave, trying, handsome, big, kind boy is gone.
Some may have noticed I haven’t been riding him over summer and it’s due to the fact I found out his heart was in Afib (atrial fibrillation) on the 17th June. He showed zero clinical signs but I had a feeling something was wrong. So we went to UCD and found out. They recommended two treatments; a cardioversion (turning the heart on and off again) or a drug called Quinidine (not available in the Republic). The cardioversion was not an option due to his size. So we went up to Tullyraine in Banbridge in July. The first treatment went well. But unfortunately his heart went back into Afib, and on the second treatment he had a cardiac event and dropped.
To say I’m devastated is an understatement. That horse was my life, my joy. He gave me my love of riding back. We did things I never thought we’d do. We never went home without a ribbon.
He was a horse with so many warning labels he wasn’t going to live past 7 as he was dangerous. But I took the chance. And by god am I glad I did.
He never said no to me, he always tried, he would look for me if I left him. He was my baby, my best boy, my love. I don’t know how to feel or what else to say, other than I love you Arthur, I love you more than words can say, I will miss you so much and I wish I could kiss your nose one last time. ❤️❤️

Another great morning over in Killossery with Sophie and Orlagh, and Flex and Luna. Flex was in great form but really freaked by the sprinklers in the next arena. Luna also jumped her first course!!! Well done girls ❤️❤️
