RUSH COASTAL EROSION UPDATE
Robert O'Donoghue TD Councillor Mark Boland & Rush Golf Club strongly feel this is an issue we cannot afford to ignore.
The coastline running alongside Rush Golf Club is changing, in some places 30 meters have been lost to the sea and the concern is not just for the golf club itself. If further erosion continues, there is a potential risk to homes, infrastructure and the wider community of Rush.
Deputy Robert OβDonoghue, Cllr. Mark Boland and Rush Golf Club are collaborating to push for a proper and the most up to date coastal erosion assessment of what is happening along this stretch of coastline. Itβs been over 6 years since the last study and weβre calling for Fingal and the OPW to work together on the next steps. We need them to fund a new up to date feasibility Drone surveyβ¦β¦
We need to be proactive now, we need to know if there is an issue rather than waiting until the problem becomes a crisis, because at the weakest areas there is a grave danger of flooding, including local residences.
