🏆 Congratulations to the Roscommon Intermediate ladies’ football team on their outstanding All-Ireland final victory over Fermanagh at Croke Park.

This is a tremendous achievement for the players, management team, clubs, families and everyone involved in Roscommon ladies’ football.

The scenes across the county as the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup returned home showed just how much this success means to the people of Roscommon.

Very disappointing to see that flowers have been stolen from the beds maintained by Roscommon Tidy Towns on Racecourse Road.

A huge amount of voluntary time, care and effort goes into keeping our town looking its best, and acts like this are deeply disrespectful to those who give so much our county town and community.

We fully support Roscommon Tidy Towns’ appeal for the plants to be returned immediately and hope this matter can be resolved.

A fantastic weekend for Roscommon Town and the wider local economy as thousands of supporters travelled to King & Moffatt Dr Hyde Park for Roscommon v Tyrone.

While the result was not the one Roscommon supporters were hoping for, the occasion once again showed the major value of big match days for local businesses, hospitality, accommodation, suppliers and the town as a whole.

Roscommon Chamber President Cahal Mahon said the impact of these fixtures is clear, with visiting supporters in town across the weekend and strong support from Roscommon fans helping to create a real boost locally.

Well done to all businesses, volunteers, match organisers, supporters and everyone who helped showcase Roscommon Town at its best.

Narrow defeat last Sunday, but Roscommon GAA is still flying – that’s good news for the local economy! ‘Roscommon GAA is on a high at the moment, fans are coming in big numbers.
