🌹 SO PROUD OF YOU, REBECCA! 🌹

What an incredible journey for Rebecca Collins, who represented Roscommon with such warmth, pride and distinction throughout the 2026 International Rose of Tralee Festival.

Rebecca has done her family, her parish, her club St Brigid's GAA Club and the entire county of Roscommon incredibly proud – and she certainly made her mark on the Dome!

After a poem all about not having a talent for the Rose of Tralee stage… Rebecca, we think you proved yourself very wrong! 😂 You absolutely rocked it and were a fantastic ambassador for Roscommon from beginning to end. 👏

A huge well done also to the , especially Yvonne Donohue and her hard-working committee, for all the work and support behind Rebecca throughout her Rose journey. You should all be enormously proud tonight.

Congratulations also to the Westmeath Rose, Caoilfhinn Ní Choiligh, who was crowned the 2026 International Rose of Tralee tonight. A wonderful achievement and our very best wishes to her for the year ahead.

Rebecca, you represented the Rossies brilliantly – and we couldn’t have asked for more. 🌹🟡🔵

’Hon the Rossies! 💪🔥

The Whistle Doesn’t Fall Far from the Tree!

A real family affair on the whistle recently, with Father and son Fergus and Nathan Halligan both on refereeing duty at the same venue, at the same time!

Fergus recently took charge of the Minor Division 2 clash between Kilbride and Western Gaels in Kilbride, while just a pitch away, Nathan was in the middle for the U14 Division 4 game between Kilbride and St Faithleachs.

Both are members of Roscommon Gaels and referee in both football and hurling, with Nathan currently enjoying his first year as a referee.

It’s great to see the next generation of match officials coming through — and a fairly unique occasion to have father and son with a whistle in hand at the same venue on the same day! 👏

We wish Nathan the very best of luck as he begins his refereeing journey, and continued success to Fergus, who no doubt has plenty of advice to pass on along the way!

Round 2 is now complete — and after just two rounds, we’ve already seen some big casualties and plenty of twists and turns across the championships.
Championship football can be unforgiving!

Attention now turns to the final round of the group stages on the last weekend in August, when there’ll be plenty at stake as clubs battle for progression and championship survival.

Well done to everyone in St Aidans GAA Club — making special new memories together, while remembering with great fondness a young man who left us far too soon.
