It has been a tremendous year for Reeside AC with huge success in local and national competitions, something we are all very proud of. There has also been great progress in the club’s long-term plans to help promote athletics in the county.
In 2024, Reeside A.C. entered into a 15-year leasing agreement with St Dominic’s GAA club for a strip of land where we can train. We were also successful in securing funding from the CLÁR programme to construct an 8-lane sprint track with high jump, long jump, and shot put areas.
By providing these facilities, we wish to make athletics as accessible as possible, and Phase 1 of the project is almost complete, so it is very exciting times.
The track will be for the community, open to all. Local clubs such as St Dominic’s GAA Club, Lecarrow Walking Club, Foróige, and St John’s Soccer Club are all welcome to share it. In addition to local clubs having access, there are many primary schools in the area that will benefit.
We will continue to update you as more progress is made.

What a way to finish the season! 🧡🖤

Massive congratulations to Reeside athlete Emily Clyne on winning All-Ireland U17 High Jump Silver in Tullamore today. What a brilliant result!!

Emily cleared 1.68m with a superb performance and came agonisingly close to a new personal best of 1.71m. The title went to Cara Ryan (1.71m), with Isabella O’Dowd also clearing 1.68m to share silver.

A fantastic achievement. Everyone at the club is incredibly proud of you Emily! 👏🥈

Warmest congrats to Emily who finished 3rd in the Inter-Provincial Tailteann Games in Carlow today! 🙌🏻

Emily put in a fantastic performance to clear 1.65m to equal the winning height but finished 3rd on count back . A wonderful experience and maybe an unlucky outcome - but much more to look forward to in the future .

Well done Emily! Reeside AC is proud of you 👏.

It’s another exciting weekend for our club with two of our brilliant athletes in action.
Emily Clyne is competing today with the Connacht team in the Tailteann Games in the high jump and long jump. Tomorrow will see Laura Lyons compete in the 123.ie National Children's Games & U12 Championships in Tullamore in the U12 long jump. Laura got a silver medal in the Connacht Championships when she jumped a personal best of 3.79m, an amazing result.
Today’s historical 123.ie Tailteann Interprovincial Games will provide another excellent spectacle of athletics at SETU Carlow, and see the four provinces compete against each other for glory. Athletes will also be vying for places on the SIAB Schools’ International team which takes place in Belfast next month.
