AR Vikings Continue to Impress in South East League
AR Vikings U13s returned to Enniscorthy on Sunday for Round 3 of the South East League, this time greeted by glorious sunshine and perfect conditions for rugby.
In another hugely encouraging performance from this developing squad, the Vikings pushed Enniscorthy all the way in an entertaining, high-scoring encounter before eventually going down by a narrow 34–26 margin.
The Vikings showed plenty of attacking ambition throughout the game, crossing for four tries. Luke Cloke led the way with an excellent brace, with Brogan Curley and Harry Alexander also getting on the scoresheet. Out-half and captain Johnny Cashman added three conversions.
While the result narrowly went Enniscorthy’s way, there were plenty of positives for the Vikings to take from the performance. The team continues to grow in confidence and cohesion with every match, playing some excellent rugby and showing great determination against strong opposition.
With three league games now under their belts, the progress being made by this relatively new squad is clear to see, and there is plenty more to come as the season develops.

AR Vikings U13s bring together players from Arklow and Rathdrum, with a strong focus on developing skills, confidence, fitness and, most importantly, enjoyment of the game.
Training:
Tuesday – 7.30pm, Arklow RFC
Thursday – 7pm, Rathdrum RFC
Any boys born in 2013 who would like to give rugby a try are very welcome to come along and join the Vikings. No previous rugby experience necessary.
