This part of the upper River Barrow is mainly a 'wild trout fishery' the angling season is from the 17th of Mar to 30th of Sept. Derryounce Lakes Fishery is a fly only stocked trout fishery open all year round with 2 lake covering 40 aces. Club permits / membership for both river & lake are available from:

We have suspended all fishing on both the lake and river, due to the ongoing and exceptionally high water temperatures. We will continue to monitor conditions daly and reopen when water temperatures are back to a safe level.
