Greenmount Cycling Academy The Academy provides a training program for youth members from age 6 up to 15 years old, boys and girls in a safe car free location.

Greenmount Cycling Academy started by Vinnie Gleeson & Alan Loftus. Greenmount Cycling Academy runs each Wednesday, 18.30-19.30, starting April 26th 2022 at Limerick Racecourse in Partrickswell. Greenmount Cycling Academy is a registered Cycling Ireland Club. We welcome youths from all clubs to the academy. We are encouraging all youths to join a club after their first few sessions with us. This training is primarily aimed at preparing youths for competitive road cycling for age categories, U12, U14 and U16

Qualified coaches provide the skills and training advice necessary to take part in road racing. The coaches will provide information to new members on bike setup, gearing, training etc. Helmets are compulsory for this training. We would recommend that riders join a Cycling Ireland registered Club. All participants must sign on and obey our coaches and stewards instructions. We will require parents or guardian’s contact details for email and / or text updates. We do not contact riders directly. Older riders should preferably use a road racing bike, The training is aimed at road racing.

A great event on this Sunday in Limerick.
The Sean Kelly 3 Counties cycle is on Sunday. Leaving TUS at 9am. 50k or 100k.
If you are old enough you might remember 2 lads called Sean Kelly and Stephen Roche. They will be riding also.
They were the Pogi and Van Aert of their day.

All happens this weekend. Get the club and friends out and join Sean and Stephen this Sunday starting and finishing in TUS Limerick.

Well done to Brian Hennessy and North Tipp Wheelers and Marc Flavin and his team at Dungarvan Cycling Club for promoting the Cycling Ireland 2026 Masters National Championships Time Trials (Nenagh) and Road Races (Kilmacthomas) at the weekend.
Always fiercely contested races where the grizzled and crafty annually appear and clip in for a thorough examination of where they stand in the national pecking order.
Greenmount Cycling Academy had riders in action over the 2 days.
M60 Liam, Ian, Richie and Patrick, M50 Bruno and Vinnie, M40 Keith and Stefano, Tandem Para Pat.
Solid results from Keith finishing 10th and Patrick 11th.

Munster Criterium Championships Friday August 14th 2026

Greenmount Cycling Academy held their final Criterium Race day of 2026 in warm and cloudy conditions at Limerick Racecourse. Championship Races for adults with Munster Criterium medals up for grabs and support races were run for youths. There was a stiff northerly wind making things difficult for riders on the home straight. Racing started at 6pm with the U8/10 race and continued throughout the evening.

Munster Criterium Championships 2026 August 14th
We have 4 races planned at Limerick Racecourse Friday evening between 6pm and 8.30pm.
Please note the Elite and Masters races have been merged at 7.30pm.
We have medals for all categories as advertised.

Please Park only in the Horse Box Car Park.
There is another event on also at the Racecourse and they may not expect cyclists to be about.
Entry will be open until 3pm Friday - We have moved the Fun Race start time to 6pm.

Full Competition Licence needed.
Run under Cycling Ireland and Cycling Munster rules.
For the Adult Championships you must be a member of a Munster Club or have a Munster address to be eligible.
Please check the CI technical rules for eligibility for championships.

What a win for Ciaran O Sullivan in yesterdays final stage of the The PJ O’Riordan Memorial RR in Athea. Co. Limerick. Ciaran put in a dig on the last of 4 laps to get away from a 7 rider break and the junior (u18) rider, fresh from completing the Junior Tour of Ireland a few weeks back held on to win against some of the strongest domestic riders in the country. He moved up to 2nd place overall to cap a fantastic weekends racing put on by Newcastle West Cycling Club.

What an achievement by our very own Fiona Mangan of the Mayenne Pro Cycling team, completing her 2nd Le Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift on Sunday in Nice. Up the road on the way to Mont Ventoux on Stage 7. Dropping the Goat on the way across to the break. Chapeau.
