Corribdale Park is a Community Leisure Facility catering for Kids Playground, Teen Zone, Walking/Running Trail, Parkrun, Sensory Garden, Wooded Area & Open Green Space-conveniently located next to Village Shops/Restaurants & adjacent to Co Co Car/Bus Park CORRIBDALE PARK IS A FITNESS AND RECREATION PARK DEVELOPED ON COMMUNITY LANDS AS AN AMENITY THAT IS AVAILABLE FREE OF CHARGE FOR THE USE AND ENJOYMENT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE FACILITIES INCLUDE A PLAYGROUND WITH EQUIPMENT AIMED AT TEENS, A SAFE SMALLER KIDS AREA, LOOPED TRAILS AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE GROUNDS SUITABLE FOR WALKING, JOGGING, WHEELCHAIRS AND BUGGIES AS WELL AS BEGINNER/ INTERMEDIATE CYCLISTS.

With just over 20 families already booked in, we have smashed through the 100 participant mark!
There’ll be some serious ducking, diving & dodging going on in Corribdale Park as everyone tries - probably unsuccessfully - to avoid getting absolutely PLASTERED in colour! 💙💚💛🧡💗

The big question is… what colour will YOU be crossing the finish line? 👀

Due to our GAA Senior Football Quater Finals being just announced for Sunday 27th Sept @ 3.15pm - we will move our Colour Dash Day to Sunday 4th Oct to accommodate our Volunteers & Participants.
Any Ticket Holder unable to make it on the new date, will be Refunded through Eventbrite - sincere apologies for this Re-scheduling of the Event & hope that disappointments will be few !

This isn’t about being the fastest — run it, walk it, jog it, dance it… just have fun!
Choose your comfortable distance ; from 1km to 5km and make your way through our colour stations for an afternoon packed with colour, music, laughs and family fun.

💚 We last ran this event in 2019 & COVID subsequently put paid to it being an Annual Event !
So to those generous families who supported us back then - why not come along with your grown up children/teens & recreate those memories & photos, while welcoming a new generation of colourful friends!

Sincere Congratulations to Oughterard Show Society on what has been yet another successful Community Event - their 61st Show !
The many Show Society Volunteers deserve all the credit for an enjoyable weekend, but we have to mention our fellow Corribdale Park, Oughterard Director ; John Murray - who's tireless effort throughout the year contributes, not only to the maintenance of this beautiful Park, but to the ethos of Community Spirit.
Sincere Thanks also to Oughterard Tennis Club ;
the Tennis Courts provided a safe, easily accessible area for kids & parents to enjoy ; to fellow Directors ; Richard Joyce & Daniel Gadd, thank you for your 'leap of faith' in allowing activities other than Tennis to grace your Courts.

The Corribdale Park journey for us all, since last year's washout Show Day, though the development works with OTC, have been challenging, often times frustrating & many times criticised - but has never deminished our resolve to always endeavour to deliver a Community Park full of optimism & life.

🍀 Show Weekend at Corribdale Park, Oughterard 🌳🎾

As we head into Show Weekend, we’ve got our fingers crossed for some fair weather and a great turnout to support our Annual Show Day this Sunday !

It’s wonderful to see such a buzz around Corribdale Park this week, with the playground and tennis courts full of children - all enjoying the final days of the school holidays and plenty of young players eager to learn and improve their tennis skills with our Oughterard Tennis Club Coaches. 🎾👏

Murphy Playground Services have been reviewing the operation of our Terma Terma to see if the journey can run more smoothly, after its initial introduction to the Park.

Behind the scenes, there’s plenty happening too. John Murray & volunteers have been busy tidying around the edges & pathways, while Mark Feeney & Jason Moylan have laid a concrete path to Tennis Court. All hoping to have everything looking its best for the weekend.
Not to mention John also organising the visit of Co Co Roadsweeper to spruce up our Village yesterday.

Sincere thanks to Kathleen & Eugene Hanley, for the generous delivery of their excess bark mulch. Contributions like this are greatly appreciated and help us defray the costs of maintaining Corribdale Park, Oughterard . 🌿

And, of course, our sincere thanks to all the Show Volunteers and CE Scheme participants, who will be working hard in the run-up to Sunday to make sure Corribdale Park is safe & looking its very best for all our visitors.

Here’s hoping for Sunshine among the Showers, and a fantastic Show Day on Sunday ☀️🌳

Last opportunity today at 1pm to see the spectacular show being given by Circus Corvenieo
We thank them for their visit, their kind co-operation and the festival atmosphere created in Corribdale Park, Oughterard .

Wishing them further success as they tour Co. Galway - heading to Athenry for next Weekend.

Well, someone has clearly been busy demonstrating their strength — unfortunately, the bollard floodlight seems to have lost the argument. 🙄

Aside from the pointless damage and the cost of putting it right, there is a slightly more important detail our budding demolition expert(s) may not have considered ; there could have been a live electrical circuit there at that point in time.

Breaking electrical equipment doesn’t just provide 'Fun' or create a repair job for us. It can leave a potentially dangerous situation for the next person(s) who happen along — including a member of your family ! Kids, Teens, Dogs & Dog Walkers and no doubt the community would be in mourning for the poor electrocuted genius who decided to kick it over in the first place !!!

So, congratulations on defeating a bollard. 🏆

This is the third or fourth time that these bollard lights have been vandalised & they have unfortunately now ceased production. Sadly we have no funds to replace them - we are still struggling to raise €3,500 with our Coffee Morning & iDonate page to help pay the day to day annual expenses !
So this section of Trails will be 'Off Limits' by end of Sept for evening walking.

Normal service will resume when our Volunteers do another bit of hard graft.

Circus Corvenieo likes our little village so much that they are staying another weekend.

Again, do not accept any Ticket transfers from any other source, except tickets through their website or ticket office.

Circus Performances opening in Corribdale Park this Friday nite 7pm.
Book Online to be sure of your seat ;
Subject to performances Not being Sold Out, tickets will also be available at the Ticket Office - probably advisable to contact 087 - 149 7657 to check availability, if you find yourself heading up at short notice to buy tickets in the Park.

There is a possibility that there will be a repeat of performances the following Weekend 14th - 16th Aug - just awaiting Confirmation.
