Louth Disability Cycling Group will be at St Laurence’s School this Thursday from 9.30am.

If anyone from the local area who uses a wheelchair would like the opportunity to get out and enjoy a cycle along the Greenway, the group will be there to help make it possible.

It’s a fantastic initiative and a brilliant chance to get out, enjoy the fresh air and experience the Greenway.

Cúchulainn Gaels would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Carroll family, and in particular to our former Senior Ladies player, Rosaleen, on the passing of her beloved daddy, Noel.

Rosaleen has been part of our club family since she was very young and, after many years of playing, has only recently stepped away from the field due to injury.

We send our love and deepest sympathies to Rosaleen, the Carroll family and their wider circle of family and friends at this very sad time.

May Noel rest in peace.

A big thank you to Yuxin Lin and her family for sponsoring the match ball for our U14 Girls’ League Cup Semi-Final last Monday.

Yuxin only started playing football last year, but she has really applied herself and has made some fantastic progress, putting in some great performances for our U14 girls throughout the season.

One performance that really stood out was in our recent away victory over Geraldines on a very wet Saturday morning in Haggardstown, a performance that earned Yuxin her place among our Dynamite Dozen! 💥

It has been brilliant to see her confidence and ability grow, and we’re delighted to have Yuxin as part of our U14 team.

Commiserations to our U14 girls who gave it absolutely everything last Monday evening in their League Cup Semi-Final against Roche Emmets GAA/ Na Piarsaigh/Blackrock CLG

Some heavy downpours before throw in made for a very wet evening, but there was certainly nothing damp about the effort, determination and commitment shown by both teams.

It was a competitive first half, with some fine points helping the Cúchulainn Gaels girls go in two points ahead at half-time.

The second half saw the inevitable Roche/Na Piarsaigh comeback, and they pulled ahead midway through the half. Our girls continued to battle, producing plenty of good football and periods of dominance, creating chance after chance. Unfortunately, the crossbar and some excellent goalkeeping denied us vital scores on several occasions.

With a number of players missing, every one of our girls had to work incredibly hard right to the final whistle. Roche/Na Piarsaigh were able to introduce fresh legs from the bench and eventually secured a deserved victory.

Best of luck to them in the final.

Our U14 coaches could not be prouder of this group of girls and the hard work they have put in throughout the season. To finish second in the league and produce so many fantastic performances, both home and away, is something they should be hugely proud of.

A massive thank you to every one of our girls, their parents and all our supporters for the encouragement and commitment throughout the year. You have all played a huge part in making it such a memorable season. 🖤💛

Well done, girls, you did yourselves and your club proud.

Our final Under 7 blitz of the season took place this morning in StBrides GFC.

A special thanks to all our parents for the fantastic turnout and support this morning. It was great to see so many of our boys and girls out enjoying their football!

The team played three very competitive games against Sean O'Mahonys and Roche Emmets GAA, showing great effort, enthusiasm and determination throughout.

A huge well done to all our U7 boys and girls for their hard work and commitment throughout the year. The future is certainly very bright for Cúchulainn Gaels!

A big shoutout to our U12 girls who put in a fantastic performance against O Connells Gfc on Thursday night!

Despite the wet conditions, the girls played some lovely football and showed great determination throughout. It was a very tight game over the first two quarters and into the third, with both teams battling hard.

O’Connells managed to pull away towards the end of the third and into the final quarter, scoring a couple of goals and points to create some distance on the scoreboard.

However, the result doesn’t take away from what was a really positive performance from all our girls. They worked hard, kept going right until the final whistle and should be very proud of their efforts. 🖤💛

Well done girls, keep up the great work!

A big thank you to Eamonn Mulligan and E Mulligan Plant Hire for sponsoring the training tops for our Senior Men’s team. Eamonn is a former Cúchulainn Gaels player and continues to be a fantastic supporter of the club. He has been a huge help with our new pitch, has sponsored match balls and is always willing to lend his support wherever he can.

Eamonn can also regularly be found down at the pitch cheering on his daughter Aimee Mae, so it’s brilliant to have his continued support both on and off the pitch. Pictured with Eamonn are Senior Men’s players Sean Brennan and Euan McArdle.

A big shoutout to our U14 girls, who played their final league match away to table toppers St. Nicholas G.F.C last Monday.

We went into half time just a goal behind and, although we couldn’t close the gap in the second half, the girls battled all the way to the final whistle. A great effort against a very strong St Nicholas’ side.

Well done to St Nicholas’, deserving winners on the night and deserving league champions.

Our girls can be hugely proud of their league campaign, finishing 2nd in the league after some fantastic performances both at home and away. It’s a brilliant achievement and a credit to all their hard work throughout the season.

But there’s still plenty to play for!

A League Cup semi-final awaits this Monday against a strong Roche Emmets GAA/Na Piarsaigh/Blackrock CLG side.

Our Under 10s had three great games at the blitz on Tuesday, hosted by Naomh Malachi GFC, taking on Dundalk Gaels, Westerns Reaghstown and St Josephs Gaa.

Despite the showering rain, the boys showed great enthusiasm, teamwork and determination throughout all three games. Plenty of football, plenty of fun and some brilliant effort from everyone.

A big thank you to Naomh Malachi for hosting and to all the teams for some great games.
