🌊🧘 What a fantastic morning at Bettystown Beach as part of Meath Outdoors Week!

Participants enjoyed a relaxing Pilates session by the sea, followed by an invigorating sea dip. The combination of movement, fresh air, and the beautiful coastal setting left everyone feeling refreshed, energised, and connected.

We had a great evening at Bettystown Beach on Tuesday for our 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲 & 𝗧𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 sessions.
It was fantastic to see both our 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 and 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 groups getting involved, trying something new and enjoying the session. 🌊☀️

A big thank you to everyone who took part and to Volleyball Ireland for delivering the sessions.

Family Orienteering Fun in Laytown! 🧭

It was fantastic to see so many families come together for a fun-filled Orienteering event in Laytown, Co. Meath, delivered by Meath Local Sports Partnership in partnership with Orienteering Ireland.

A total of 11 families took part, enjoying a variety of activities including an exciting orienteering maze challenge and a mapped course around the local area.

Participants put their navigation skills to the test, explored new routes, and worked together to complete the challenges.

There was plenty of laughter, teamwork, and great enthusiasm throughout the session, with everyone embracing the adventure and enjoying the opportunity to get active outdoors. It was wonderful to see families learning new skills, building confidence, and creating lasting memories together.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success.

We look forward to welcoming even more families to future orienteering activities across Meath! Thank you to St. Colmcilles GAA Club for allowing the use of the Seafield area.

🏊‍♀️Open Water Swim Series 🏊‍♀️

Join Swim Ireland for their third Annagh Lake Swim Series on Sunday, September 6th. Registration from 8:30am - 10am, race starts at 10:15am!🏊‍♀️

There will be a 1.5km competitive event. There will also be a 750m participation event and a children's event.

Children will have the option of swimming between 50m and 250m. Children must be 8yrs+

There will be a category for both Wetsuit and Skin Swimmers. This event will cater for all levels of swimmers and people interested in the water and the coast.

🏅Each participant will receive, a Swim Ireland swim series T shirt sponsored by Aqualine, silicone swim hat, and Swim Ireland finisher medal on the day.🏅

- You must be able to swim the distance of the event that you have registered for.
- This Swim is for ages 14 and over only.
- Due to the nature of Open Water Events, timings on event day are subject to change.
- Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event (except when in the water).
- Tow floats are recommended.
- Open to both wetsuits and non-wetsuit participants.

Whether you've never sat in a canoe before or are simply curious about the sport, this beginner-friendly session is the perfect opportunity to experience canoeing in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.

A Fantastic Evening at Lough Lene! 🌊🤿

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Come 'N' Try Snorkelling event in Collinstown last night. We had a fantastic turnout, and it was wonderful to see so many people trying something new and discovering the underwater world.

🎉 Well done to all the children who took part in the Department of Children, Disability and Equality National Play Day 2026! 🎉

An amazing 347 children participated in a variety of fun-filled activity days across 14 centres, clubs, and schools throughout the county.

Each participating group received a National Play Day Equipment Pack, complete with resources and ideas for a wide range of games and activities to support active, inclusive play.

🪁✨ We’re delighted to partner with Go Fly Your Kite to bring an exciting and interactive 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 to families this August.

This hands-on workshop offers children and families a wonderful opportunity to learn, create, and have fun together. Participants will design and build their own kite, either from scratch or by tracing a graphic onto their kite. Along the way, they’ll discover the science behind flight, exploring concepts such as aerodynamics, balance, and tension, while learning how each part of a kite helps it soar.

The workshop will take place in Bettystown Library from 6:30pm to 7:15pm, followed by a chance to put those new skills into action with a kite-flying session on the beach immediately afterwards.
