𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬

The annual BnM Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon was held on Saturday August 30th with this year’s race incorporating the Leinster Half Marathon Championships.

Congratulations to Breda McDonald who took the bronze medal in the Leinster Championships in a time of 1:25:07 🙌✨️

Well done to all the athletes from the club who competed: Breda McDonald, Noel Burke, Liz McWey, Helen O'Brien 🙌

10 Mile Races

Well done to John Troy who raced in the Irish Life Frank Duffy 10 Mile on Sunday last and finished in 1:00:18

Noel Burke and Liz McWey ran in the Kilcock 10 mile race which also took place on Sunday 16th of August.

Well done to our club members in action in 5k races lately.

Breda McDonald raced in New Ross for the South East Greenway 5k on August 7th and finished 6th female in a stacked race in 17.42 👏

On Friday last, August 14th, 3 club members raced the Fishermans 5k hosted by Oughaval A.C.

National Masters Track & Field

On Friday 7th and Saturday 8th August, the National Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships were held at Morton Stadium.

Ronan O’Reilly competed in two races across the weekend — the 1500m on Friday evening and the 5000m on Saturday.

Ronan finished 4th in the 1500m before going on to win the 5000m, successfully defending his M55 National Masters title for another year! 🥇👏

A huge thank you to all the Athletics Ireland personnel and volunteers for running a fantastic, top-class competition. 👏👏

Congrats to John Troy who ran in the Dublin Race Series 10km event, the Fingal 10K. This race took place in the town of Swords, County Dublin on Sunday July 12th.
John was 2nd M50 🥳🥈

🇮🇪⛰️ World Masters Mountain Running Championships 2026 ⛰️🇮🇪

Martin McDonald competed in the World Masters Mountain Running Championships in Janské Lázně, Czechia, where athletes from around the globe took on some of the toughest mountain courses. This event was held during the high temperatures in Europe, mid 30°C adding to the effort!

On Friday, 26th June, Martin lined up for the Uphill Only race, covering 7.5km with a punishing 740m ascent. Unfortunately, Martin didn't get the performance he was hoping for on the day, but true to his character, he regrouped and came back fighting.

On Sunday, 28th June, Martin tackled the Classic Up & Downhill race, a demanding 9km course featuring 550m of climbing and descent. His determination and resilience paid off as he played a vital role in helping Ireland's M65 team secure the World Championship Bronze Medal alongside teammates Ger Maloney and Conor Nolan. 🥉🇮🇪

To compete on the world stage is an incredible achievement, but to return home with a team medal makes it even more special.

Congratulations, Martin, Ger and Conor on a great performance and a brilliant achievement for Irish masters mountain running! 👏👏
