Patrick Tracy, one of our emerging junior stars, secured a superb victory in the prestigious Wicklow Boys Under 18 Championship at Greystones Golf Club this week.

Now in its 47th year, the Wicklow Boys is one of the most prestigious Under 18 events in Irish golf. Played annually at Greystones GC, the championship is contested over 72 holes of stroke play and boasts a distinguished list of past champions, including two-time winner and former European Tour professional Paul Dunne.

Patrick produced an outstanding performance from start to finish. He went wire-to-wire to win by an impressive nine shots, with rounds of 66, 67, 73, 66. His closing 66 was particularly impressive in testing, windy conditions, and he capped off a memorable championship in fitting style with a birdie at the last.

It was also a good week for Andrew McCormack, who finished tied 7th overall and was the leading Under 16 player, following rounds of 69, 74, 70 and 76. Another terrific achievement and a great reflection of the strength of our Junior Section.
