Overload! is our annual event for young Canoe Polo players in Ireland. This year we are keeping things simple, focusing on playing mainly Polo Matches for older players , and some fun drills and skills and activities for younger players.

And yes - registration includes the Overload 2026 Tee shirt kindly sponsored by Westmeath County Council.

The event is over two separate days, please select either Saturday 5th September, or Sunday 6th September based on your skill level.

Registration Options

'BEGINNERS & DIVISION 3- If you are a beginner or have played up to Division 3 level, please register for the one day on Saturday 5th September 10.30am - 3.30pm. Parents/guardians of children under 12 must stay at the venue during the event.

'DIVISION 2 and 1' - More experienced players, register for Sunday 6th September when we will get everyone together, make teams, and play some fun Canoe Polo matches. 10.00am - 4pm.

Cost to take part is €12. Register by Saturday 29th latest (earlier registration helpful), if you want a free Canoe Polo/Overload Tee Shirt.

Another International Tournament over at Mullingar Harbour Canoe Polo . We had 39 teams taking part in 5 Divisions - making for a great display of skill at every level.

Best of Luck to Ireland U21 teams taking part in the De Padel International Canoe Polo Tournament this weekend in Belgium.

Mullingar has 7 Athletes taking part on Ireland teams. Aine Heffernan, Ana Swanson Grainne Heap and Lara Heffernan on the U21 Womens team and Conor Joyce, Donnacha Flynn and James Garvey on the U21 Mens teams.

Separately we have another 14 Athletes representing Mullingar on Club teams at the same tournament.

Come and Try Canoe Polo ! We are running Come and Try Sessions for children aged 9 to 13 on Monday 27th July and Friday 31st July at 4pm.

Canoe polo is an exciting team sport, similar to basketball but played in Kayaks, and our club welcomes beginner children who are water confident and looking to try a new ball sport - you dont need any previous kayaking experience and we supply all equipment.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONS !

*Mullingar are WOMENS and DIVISION 3 IRISH CLUB CHAMPIONS*

Last weekend we hosted the National Club Championships at Mullingar Harbour. 24 teams from all around Ireland taking part, with Mullingar taking Gold, Silver and Bronze across divisions.

Our young club was proud to have the highest number of Women players at the tournament, a testament to years of hard work by volunteers, coaches and of course players. Mullingar W1 took Bronze in the Mixed Division2 and Mullingar W2 placed fourth in Division 3 against all mixed/mens teams, a fantastic achievement, that set up for an all Mullingar Womens final, with W1 taking Gold and W2 Silver. Big thanks to visitors Polo Mints who were also outstanding in the open Division and placed 3rd in the Womens Division.

Our Mullingar3 boys team took Gold in Division 3 after a great final against a tough Kilkenny team.

Our Division 1 men's teams came 5th and 6th, in our first year to have two Division 1 teams, with most of our Mullingar 2 team competing in Division 1 for the first time. Good games against very experienced teams and close to making the semi-final, the future looks good.

Well done everyone who took part, all our Volunteers and Coaches who work with our players to develop them as team players.

Thanks to WTF Gig Guide Mullingar for visiting us for the National Club Championships which we hosted place at Mullingar Harbour at the weekend.

JOY DAVIS INTERNATIONAL - WINNERS !

Last weekend, we took part in the Joy Davis International Canoe Polo Tournament in Hull. Over 50 teams took part, Mullingar was well represented with 5 teams, we had a great time and came away with some trophies too.

This year we won Division 3 and Youth Divisions. A huge achievement for a young team that played really tough games all weekend. For most of these players this was their third year in Division 3 at the Joy Davis, every year getting better and better position before taking the win in a tough final against London East End team.

All our teams were brilliant, our Mullingar 1 team who won Division 2 last year moved up to the top division against some great sides coming 6th. Our Mullingar 2 team, who won Division 3 team moved up to Division 2 and came 10th. Our two Division 4 teams were also great, with many there for the first time, some very young players who came 7th and 12th in their division.

A huge thanks to Kingston Kayak Club for organising yet another great event and being so welcoming. This tournament has helped our club develop, every year progressing and pushing ourselves up the divisions. Thanks too to our volunteers who coached, looked after and fed everyone for the weekend.
