County Strokeplay was held in the Monster Saturday , and what a day we had ...
We have the Senior County Strokeplay Champion again as Niall McAteer retains his title in another epic day with Gerry Coyne pushing him all the way for the second year running ...
Niall is one of the nicest guys in pitch and putt but he has the heart and bravery of a lion to go with his unbelievable technical ability.
We are so proud of Niall.
In inter we had so many in the running but David kiernan was in joint lead at the end of 3 rounds with friend of Lough Owel Mark Kelly ,
In the end Mark won the play off 9 holes.Marks confidence is sky high with taking Rochfortbridge Pitch and Putt course record last week.
Thank you to all who attended and all the kind words about the course .

Presidents Prize day in Lough Owel,
We had a great day thanks to David Kiernan and all the people who are working so hard on the course .
On a damp windy day everyone shot the lights out today , in a very competitive and close competition.
3rd was Toejoe Sweeney , again in top 3 with a great 95 in an 18n18g competition.
2nd was Niall Kinahan .
Ist Dean Dinnegan for second major in a row and playing his best pitch and putt . 2 holes in one today helped him pip Niall by one shot .
Mark Kelly won the visitors prize shooting a great 9 under gross .
Considering the conditions the scores were unreal .

President Prize tomorrow for Davie Champ Kiernan at 11 am Sunday . Lough Owel will be closed until 4 pm .
Should be a great crowd for the Longford man who has worn the Westmeath Jersey with more pride than any Westmeath man.
