NEWS UPDATE.

Just back from a grounds inspection. You know the lads are doing rightly . They have as far I know about 9 and nearly 10 of the best sporting layouts anyone could ask for set up.

Just 2 more to think about and it's job on . We are ready for action.

Squads for both days 5th and 6th of September selling well. If you are not already booked in do not delay. 086 2582370. I will fit you in.

Well where do I start. Its the icing on the cake. 16th of August 2026.

Last March we set sail to do our utmost to win the Leinster league. We came 2nd. In a big field.

Longford RGC were running their sporting league in mid May. We decided we put a big effort to win this . We won it.

Next stop was Esker NARGC national Shooting Event. Division B. The plan was do Longford proud.
We won gold.

The next up was the very popular Dtl shoot staged by the Longford RGC .

A shoot I might add that attracts in the region of 21 teams . We end up 9.5 Clay's short off a possible 1750 to take first place.

In a word I say well done to joint Captains Mick Campbell,Hugh OHara and Joe Kelly, Paddy Owen's, Joe Coyle for Keeping the Streete flag flying high in Newtowncashel shooting grounds today..

It would be remis of me not to mention our ladies today that preformed very well.
I speak of Chloe Denning and Georgina Coyle.

I also must say fair play to luke Kelly that won the trainee award 👏..

I thank the Newtowncashel club for putting on an excellent display today. Fair play to a great committee that has their grounds looking top dollar.

While I have the thank you tongue in gear I thank the lady of the Crossroads Inn Pauline and her other half Gerry for taking care of the celebrations. We also thank Pauline and Gerry for their generous sponsorship to tog the team out for the All Ireland. 👏👏...

🏆 Captain Mick Campbell,Tommy Denning ,Hugh OHara,Joe Kelly, Paul Connell and Joe Coyle six clayshooting men from a small parish called Streete situated on the Longford/Westmeath border, awaken this morning as All Ireland Champions in their Class or Division 2 of the NARGC clayshooting national event. On behalf of our Chairman Michael Mulleady and the committee here at Streete Shooting Grounds we salute you men for a job well done. On a score of 226/250.
☝That score would also make you 2nd overall in the Club event. To the winners in Division 1. To be 2nd overall to some of the best at the sport should give you boys a feel good factor. Just to say the last time we went to the All Ireland event we came 2nd in Division 2. A promise was made if we got back again we would take gold back. Promise full filled. I heard a rumour in Murphys CrossroadsInn Lisryan last night. We will bring the bigger one next time we return. I rest my case. 🏆🏆.

🥏To win any Team Event preparation is key. We thank the team of Six for their efforts. We also must not forget the team behind the scenes. The team that set the practice courses over 8 layouts on a twice weekly basis, Some times with the odd complaint they were a bit too hard. 😁😁😁. Pat Denning, Padraig Mc Gauran, Mick Muleady and I can't forget Chloe Denning with the red marker to let the lads know what was what, when they would arrive. Take a bow team management.🥏🥏.

👏👏To build on any success you must bring youth a long. I have to say well done to Luke Kelly trainee and Shane Fahy U21that done very well in there grades in representing the county and club. Both lads just came up ever so short of medals. Keep up the good work lads ye will get there.👏👏.

🥏 That's the All Ireland NARGC event over for another year. I would now like to finish and thank the people behind the scenes of arranging this great now 3 day event. It has to take some work and effort to make things run so smooth. Well done to all 👏👏.

🎈Good morning all. Summer league 2026 done and dusted .🎈.
🏆First of all I need to start by saying on behalf of our Chairman and committee here in Streete I want to say a big thank you to the family of Mick Hayden for their support to this event. I thank them for their generous contribution towards the prize fund. Help like this Help us run events that clayshooters want to keep coming back for more. So Carol and the Hayden Family take a bow.👏👏..
🥏In my head this league belongs to one young man.A wee man with very little to say. He let's his gun do the talking. I speak of the Tyrellspass boy TJ Donoghue. Tj went about his business in Class A. He came back with 49/50.This number would not only win him his class, it would also earn him the right to step to the front with six of the best shooters that takes part in the sport ,not only in Streete but across the island of Ireland. I am talking about Shane Kelly Longford, Cian Mcloughlin Longford,Noel Kelly Roscommon,Richard O'Rawe and Brian Higgins Cavan and the buck that is showing him every trick in book to become top shot at the sport of clayshooting. Yes Chris Maguire Westmeath. Tj also won the super final for the high guns of guns.All the above mentioned men put 50/50 a 48 or 49 /50 over the past 5 weeks .
Tj won out on 11/16. Targets set at some distance and angles. Well done Tj👏👏.

🏆 So from the Student to the master. As regards overall High Gun winner. The word in the early rounds was Maguire was getting it hard to get warmed up.😁. He came back in last week. Week with the usual grin. What I do I need to night will 48 do any good. I shock his hand,your on I said . You thought I was beat didn't you. I see you next week. ☝.
🎈He is far from beat is the same Christopher Maguire from Tyrellspass Co Westmeath. He came with intent to win overall High Gun of 2026 and the Mick Hayden Cup. A familiar Green Badge for his 50/50 Well done Chris . Good shooting. 👏👏.

🥏Putting the final preparations together for next week ends NARGC all Ireland. 🥏.

🥏 Last weekend we made the long journey down to Bishops Mountain we came back with a bronze medal in the trainee section. Won by Luke Kelly Streete. This weekend we made a short trip up the road to Scots corner in Monaghan . For the inter County Challenge arranged by Barry McDermott, Glen Ross and very well assisted by Raymond O Reilly Granard/Longford.
To arrive back with Gold in the Team Event, Gold in the vets by our very own founder member Pat Denning 👏👏 and bronze again by Luke Kelly. So from the young gun to the old gun in a week not bad. Well done also goes to
Killoe/Ballinalee man Darren Campbell who took home Gold in the Side x Side. Well done Darren. 👏👏.

🏆. I thank the people that travelled to a very well organised event. A sporting course of 50 targets set out over 7 stands with something there to suit all categories. Well done lads.🥏🥏.
