Did you know that the Reformer was created as a universal apparatus designed to do the work that would otherwise require physical effort from the teacher?

That was one of Joseph Pilates’ ideas behind creating this apparatus.

And if you’ve ever performed the original Joseph Pilates exercises designed specifically for the Reformer, you’ve probably already felt just how much this apparatus can give to your body.

I warmly invite you to experience Pilates on the Reformer while staying connected to the classical roots of the method.

In the classical method, the spine is always part of the goal – moving it, articulating it, strengthening and lengthening the body around it, while teaching the whole body to work as one connected system.

Sometimes I stop in the studio and think about how much it took to create this place.

Not just the equipment, the renovations or the timetable.

I had to become very clear about the kind of space I wanted to build and how I wanted women to feel when they walked through the door.

I never wanted it to be about just one type of training.

Some days your body needs more mobility and control. Other days, more strength. You might start with Mat Pilates and later discover Tower or Reformer.

That’s why the studio has grown the way it has.

Slowly. Intentionally. Around what the people who train here actually need.

And today, I’m proud to show what Vitalija Wellness Studio has become.

Mullingar — this is my little corner of movement, strength and progress.

You’ve tried the Reformer… but have you tried the Tower?

I often hear the same thing when someone sees it for the first time:

“That looks like a torture device.” 🤪

Fair enough. With all the springs, bars and straps, the Tower can look slightly intimidating before you know what we actually do with it.

But there is a reason I chose Reformers with Towers for my studio.

The Reformer gives us the moving carriage. The Tower gives us a stable surface, with springs working from different heights and directions. Put the two together and suddenly we have so many more possibilities to work on strength, mobility, control, coordination, range of movement and the way the whole body moves.

And personally… I LOVE the Tower. The more I use it, the more possibilities I see.

At Vitalija Wellness Studio, every Reformer is equipped with a Tower, so we can work with the Reformer, the Tower, or combine both in the same session.

The real difference makes sense when you feel it yourself.

First, experience the Reformer.

Then we’ll introduce you to the “torture device”. 😄

Sometimes I bring my daughter with me to my workouts.

And I do it for a reason.

I want her to grow up seeing that taking care of her body is normal.

That movement is not a punishment.
That exercise is not an obligation.
That taking care of yourself isn’t something you have to “find time for” only after you’ve taken care of everyone else.

I want her to know that we take care of our bodies because we want to be stronger, healthier, more energetic and happier.

And this is where I might be unpopular.

But I will never support the idea that a mother should always put herself second.

“I’ll take care of myself later.”
“I don’t have time to exercise because of the kids.”
“Right now it’s family, work, my husband… I’ll come later.”

Because children don’t just listen to what we tell them.

They watch how we live.

And if a daughter constantly sees her mum taking care of everyone except herself — what kind of relationship with herself is she learning?

My daughter doesn’t have to grow up loving exercise the way I do.

But I want her to grow up knowing that taking care of her body, her health and herself is normal.

Not selfish.
Not something you do only if there’s time left.
Not “someday”.

Normal.

When we take care of ourselves, we don’t just become stronger.

We show our children what it looks like when a woman understands that she matters too.

And for me, that is a priority.

What do you think — what kind of relationship with self-care are we teaching our children through the way we live?

Share your thoughts in the comments. I genuinely want to know — do you agree with me?

Who else has started feeling something similar?

When I turned 40, I noticed a drop in my energy levels.

At first, I thought, surely it’s too early for perimenopause, so I didn’t pay too much attention to it. Besides, life was busy. There was always something else to do.

But when I turned 41, those changes became stronger.

And that’s when I understood something:

My body is changing, whether I want it to or not.

That was the signal.

I couldn’t control the fact that my hormones were changing. But once I started looking deeper into what was actually happening in my body, I found clear answers about what I could control.

My discipline.
How I train.
My muscle mass.
My nutrition.
How I take care of my body.

I realised that while I cannot stop hormonal changes, I can take action to help reduce some of the symptoms and make this stage of life easier for myself.

And that is exactly what I’m sharing with you in this post.

I hope you find it as valuable as I did.

Our lives are not over. They are just beginning.

But we have to make a decision about how we want to live them.

What about you?

Do you strength train and lift weights regularly?

It’s finally here. 🤍

After months of planning, testing and development, I’m so excited to introduce the Vitalija Wellness App.

This is much more than a booking system.

It was created from years of working closely with people, understanding their needs and thinking about how I could make every step of your wellness journey simpler, more organised and more supportive.

With the app you can:

✔️ Book your classes

✔️ Purchase packages

✔️ Manage your bookings and credits

✔️ Complete your Wellness Journal

✔️ Track your wellbeing over time

And this is only the beginning. More features will continue to be added as the app grows alongside our community.

Already using buk.ie/vwc?

No problem.

You can continue using the current booking system until all of your existing class credits have been used.

Once your credits have finished, you’ll simply move across to the new Vitalija Wellness App.

For now, you can easily add the app to your Home Screen and use it just like any other app.

In a future update, it will also be available on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey.

I can’t wait for you to start using it. 🤍

A new chapter begins. 🤍

Last week, I completed the final module of my Reformer Pilates training.

It marked the end of months of learning, practising, and preparing for something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.

And now… it’s finally happening.

From 7th July, Reformer Pilates officially begins at Vitalija Wellness Studio.

We’ll be starting with four weekly classes—two morning and two evening sessions.

If you’ve been waiting to experience Reformer Pilates, the timetable is now live, so make sure to check the class schedule and book your place.

And there’s one more exciting announcement coming very soon…

It’s something I’ve been building behind the scenes for a long time, and I can’t wait to finally share it with you.

Stay tuned. 🤍

One of the best decisions I ever made in my professional journey was choosing the right teacher and investing in deepening my knowledge.

I fell in love with Pilates from the very first session. I knew this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life because it is the foundation upon which all other training methods and programs can be built.

When I decided to qualify as a Reformer Pilates teacher, I carefully chose my teacher because I wanted to truly learn how to use the Reformer, understand its functionality, and understand why it was created in the first place.

What I was looking for, I received in abundance—and much more. This teacher is a true goldmine of knowledge, wisdom, and experience of immense value.

From him, I learned not simply what Reformer Pilates exercises are, but:

• WHAT WAS EACH EXERCISE CREATED FOR?
• WHAT FUNCTION DOES EACH EXERCISE SERVE IN THE BODY?
• AND WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO TEACH THE MOVEMENT WITHIN THE EXERCISE, RATHER THAN JUST THE EXERCISE ITSELF?

There was certainly a lot of work involved: countless brain cells sacrificed, a lot of sweat shed while reshaping my understanding of Pilates, moments of frustration, but also a great deal of faith and hope that I could do it.

Because my mission is to help people feel healthier and happier in their bodies.

A huge thank you to my Pilates teacher Maximilian Stohr I am incredibly grateful for every challenge, every lesson, and every push beyond my limits.

I am sure our paths will cross again.

And congratulations to me on becoming a Reformer Pilates teacher✨💫
