This Saturday, Corofin & Monivea/Abbey will go head-to-head in the 2026 Galway SFC Quarter-final at Tuam Stadium.

It has been 34 years since Monivea/Abbey last defeated Corofin in the Galway SFC.

Monivea/Abbey made an explosive start to their 1992 championship campaign in Dunmore, when inspired by a cracker of an early goal from Gerry Warren, they went on to pull off a shock victory over a fancied Corofin side.

Under the stewardship of Francis Roche, Donal McCormack, Donal Kelly and Joe Burke (trainer), Monivea/Abbey went on to win the Frank Fox Cup in 1992, defeating Tuam Stars in the Galway SFC final.

Our Junior D ladies get the action underway at 4pm, followed by our Junior A ladies at 6pm.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to get down and see both teams in action, and no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

Congratulations to our U14 Girls on their fantastic recent win over Tuam Cortoon securing the Division 1 Shield!

A brilliant achievement and a great reward for all the hard work and teamwork throughout the season.

Our U16A girls, were crowned Division 1 Shield champions after a thrilling win over Caltra last Saturday. The girls built up a strong lead by half-time, but Caltra came back in the second half. The girls showed great character and held on for a brilliant three-point victory. Huge congratulations to all the players and coaches. 🏆
