National Silver for Audrey 🥈

Congratulations to Audrey Harraghy on her silver medal in the W60 800m at The National Masters today in Santry.

What a fantastic achievement and another brilliant result. 👏👏

This is Monaghan Courthouse, situated in the heart of Monaghan town. In front of this historic building will be the location of the Start/Finish area at the Monaghan 10 Miler and 4 miler on Sunday 9th August.

A large registration tent will be open here for bib and teeshirt pick up from 9.30am, 3 hours before the race starts.

Pre race warm up and final instructions will be given from here at 12.10pm.

You will start your race here and finish here too! The registration tentcwill be transformed by then to refreshments tent where we will provide plenty of food and treats for all participants.

Prizegiving will take place here too, once podium places have been recorded.

Monaghan town centre is THE place to be on Sunday 9th August.

The National Senior Championships took place this weekend where the elite of Irish Athletics was on show.

It was a great experience for Lara Corrigan at the Championships yesterday. Still only 15, Lara made her senior national championship debut in the 400m, gaining invaluable experience by lining up alongside one of Ireland's best, Sophie Becker.
Lara has been one of the club's most improved athletes this season an outstanding achievement given the exceptional talent within our juvenile programme. Her dedication, determination and commitment to improving have been evident throughout the year.
Well done Lara.

Well done also to Fiadh and Eabha who represented Monaghan Phoenix as Athletics Ireland paid tribute to Ciara Mageean during they Championships.
They also met European Champion Sarah Healy.

Mid Week Performances

Three of our older athletes travelled to Lucan Harriers to take part in a Dublin Athletics graded meeting on Wednesday Night.
Georgia Wright ran in the 3000m race, and finished in 2nd place, securing yet another PB finishing in 10:04.98, edging ever closer to the 10 minute barrier.
Lara Corrigan competed in the 800m A race and ran well to finish in 2:20.86, the second fastest time of her fledgling career.
Leanna McEntee ran in the 800m D race, and secured a decisive win in a whopping 15 second PB of 2:30.17
