Academy U12’s claim top spot on the road!

The U12’s have been super busy of late with two very tough games in the last 3 days.
Yesterday they faced the multi-talented Bellurgan team in an evening kick off.

⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️Goals from AmyRose, Niamh, Marie and Sally saw the girls take the 3points but the game was another real battle needing all girls to show skills and tactical understanding beyond their years. Playing out from the back just one of the team’s strengths.

Bellurgan once again troubled the Academy team and a super free kick rattled the side netting to make it 3-1 with 20 minutes to go.

The Blayney Academy girls are taking real ownership of their team this year and lots of advice and encouragement could be heard throughout the game 👏👏👏
With knock out games around the corner and the Ballinamallard tournament this Sunday we look forward to seeing what else the girls can achieve this year.

⚽️💙 SUPER SUNDAY FOR ACADEMY GIRLS FOOTBALL! 💙⚽️
The Academy girls enjoyed a fantastic day of football in the home of Monaghan football, receiving a warm welcome from our great friends at Monaghan United FC while renovations continue at Beech Hill College.

A huge thank you to Ronan Callan and everyone at Monaghan United for creating such a brilliant venue vibe and showing incredible support for girls’ football. 👏

Our U12s produced a titanic battle against a very well coached Bellurgan United in the Louth School Girls League Top Division, with skill, determination, great tackles and some excellent goals. ⚽️🔥 AmyRose found the net three times ⚽️⚽️⚽️, while captain Niamh also got on the scoresheet. 💪 (4-2)

Next up, our U10s took to the MUFC main pitch against an excellent Square United side. Merryn, Chloe(POTM) and Lilly all found the net in a fantastic, free-flowing game, while young Saoirse was outstanding in the away (Square United) goal — an amazing performance from such a young player! 🌟👏

A massive thank you to referee Paul McClave, everyone at Monaghan United, both sets of players and all the coaches for helping make it a truly memorable Super Sunday for local grassroots female football! 💙⚽️

Girls’ football is going from strength to strength — and days like this show exactly why! 🙌
