We don’t even know where to begin but let’s start with how unbelievably amazing all the swimmers were yesterday evening (28th August 2026) in the annual Swim Ireland Mile & 1/2 Mile Swim. 🏊🏼🏊🏼👏🏊🏼🏊🏼👏

Special shout out to the local swimmers who have trained so hard this Summer, the Tidal pool team are so proud of you all 💪❤️👏

Swim goes from The Tidal Pool (Mile) or The Quay (1/2 mile) in Blacksod bay through the canal & finished at The Docks in Broadhaven Bay. 🏊🏼🏊🏼🏊🏼🏊🏼

There’s a lot of organising, sponsoring & volunteering involved in running events like these & we are so very thankful to everyone who helps us out each year. 👏👏

The area lined out below will be extremely busy with Swimmers on Friday 28th August from 6.30pm to 8pm.

Access to the canal will be limited to swim safety crew during this time for swimmer safety.
We appreciate your cooperation- safety first always.
