🔴🟡 Well do to the U14 footballers who took part in the Ben Flahive Memorial Tournament in Douglas today. The boys played good football to reach the plate final, but just met a stronger team. 🔴🟡

Minor 4 football mallow 2-16 Erin’s own 3-11. Mallow came flying out of the blocks scoring 4 pts from Tommy Sull Donagh Nagle Ian Sullivan and Eoin Kiely. The impressive Jack hegarty replied with two before Tommy Sull slotted home mallow goal and Bobby Sull added a point 1-5 to 0-2. But again a great passing move started in defence by Shane ocallaghan Rian Allen Peter McGrath Peter Murphy and ended up with Hegarty slotting home the EO goal. Mallow cancelled that out with 3 points Cormac madden and two from Bobby Sull. Jack hegarty slotted over for EO but mallow with two from Sam Sheehan and another from Conor O’Leary had mallow in control.EO defenders started to take control with Ruarcan Lyon’s Ethan ODonovan Sean ocallaghan backline and Alex Burke Rian Allen Dara Stapleton very solid. Adam Nagle picked out who Sean Linehan replied with a EO point before Alex Burke broke from halfback through the pitch before placing the ball in the corner of the net and Luke Duggan added a point to drag EO back into the match. Tommy Sull kicked the final score of an excellent half to send mallow in leading 1-12 to 2-5. EO came flying back with Jack hegarty slotting home EO third goal after a great run from Matthew hamell. followed up with a Jack ocallaghan point to draw the sides level 3-6 to 1-12. Mallow subs Ryan Cagney and Harry punch slotted over. EO responded with two points from Jack hegarty and a point from Peter Murphy to lead by one for the first time. Harry punch had it level before Jack ocallaghan restored EO lead. But a great run from Tommy sull to fire into the net for mallow to lead by two points. The speedy Jack Crowley fired over for EO from a move started out of defence y Ryan Coffey. but it was bobby sull mallow who popped over to win by two.Best EO the paw Conor Dunphy made two outstanding saves in goal, Rian Allen Peter McGrath Luke Duggan Adam Nagle Alex Burke with Ethan ODonovan outstanding.
