The Walks, Loughrea

The Walks Project - Regenerating this popular, unique, historic walkway in the heart of Loughrea. The walkway was put in place pre 1790.

Over time, the Walks wall and bridges had fallen into a serious state of this repair. Following the commissioning of a Regeneration Plan by Galway County Council, a group of local people came together, to form the Walks Project Team, with a view to securing funding to repair the masonry elements and enhance the biodiversity of the area.
