A GLR's advance party spotted yesterday checking out the Comeraghs for our Autumn Away Trip at end of Sept.
We are a hiking group based in Loughrea and with over 80 members from a wide area of E.Galway. We meet every second Sunday for walks around south Galway, Co.
Our club was formed in '04 and we celebrated the 20th anniv with a Walking Festival celebrating the many trails available locally in the Sliabh Aughty range Clare and occasionally go on weekend walking trips further afield. Walks are approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours long and are graded; relatively easy (green), moderate (blue) and more difficult hikes (red). We are members of Mountaineering Ireland and currently have 60 members.
