Carew FC Junior Team Management, Season 2026/27

Carew Football Club is delighted to announce our Junior Team Management group for the 2026/27 season.

The new management team was officially introduced at our Celebration & Awards Night, marking an exciting new chapter for the club as we look ahead to the season.

Mike Aherne will lead the Junior Team as Manager, supported by a strong and experienced group around him.

Marty Foley joins as Head Coach, bringing valuable experience, football knowledge and leadership to the setup.

Dean McNamara steps into the role of Assistant Manager, making the move from player to management. His connection with the squad, understanding of the club and commitment to Carew FC will be a huge asset throughout the season.

The management group will also be supported by a dedicated backroom team of Shane Connolly, Brian Foley and Kevin O’Connell

Pre-season begins tomorrow night as the Junior Team returns for its first training session ahead of the new season.

Following a positive season last year, capped off by winning the LDL Healy Webb Cup, there is a real sense of focus, energy and ambition within the group.

With a committed management team now in place, Carew FC is looking forward to building on last season’s progress and driving the club forward throughout 2026/27 season.

Patrick Boyle was honoured with the Carew FC Hall of Fame Award, recognising his dedication, excellence and long-standing commitment to the club.

Paddy Koyce is pictured as a former player and proud supporter whose connection to Carew has remained strong over the years.

Albert Slattery received the Lifetime Contribution Award in recognition of his service and commitment to the club.

Mike Smith brought the stories of Carew Park Football Club since 1973 to life on the night. Wearing his original club tie from 1973, Mike shared memories, laughter and powerful stories of the people who built the foundations of the club.

Gary Griffin received the Founder’s Legacy Award on behalf of his late father, Denny Griffin — a founding member whose commitment remains part of the club’s story.

Pat O’Connor received the Honorary Service Award for his many years of dedicated service to Carew FC.

Alan Koyce is also pictured, recognised for his continued support to the club.

From the story of Carew Park Football Club since 1973 to the future of Carew Football Club, these are people whose contribution will always be valued.

Mike Smith brought the room back through the story of Carew Park Football Club, sharing memories, characters and moments that have shaped the club since 1973. With warmth, humour and real affection, Mike reminded everyone of the people who gave so much, the people who are no longer with us, and the stories that will always remain part of the club’s history. His original 1973 club tie made the moment especially meaningful.

Willie O’Dea TD spoke positively about the future, his support for the club, and the ambition behind the next chapter. As Carew Football Club continues to modernise, grow and create new opportunities, it does so with real pride in the foundations laid by Carew Park FC.

Together, their words captured the journey perfectly: from the memories and values of Carew Park Football Club to the ambition and future of Carew Football Club.
