Circus Directors Lab Sharing ✨

Join us in the IACC !!

Sunday 30th August 15:09 hrs,

Some sharings of works in progress as part of our Circus Director’s Lab. With funding from the Arts Council’s International Residency Initiatives Scheme and Limerick City & County Council, Montreal-based director Anthony Venise and Fidget Feet’s Chantal McCormick are running a Director’s Lab in IACC with 3 different emerging directors. Over the course of the week they will work with 2 artists each, practicing and developing their directing skills.

On Sunday they will have a sharing of their work and we’re inviting you to attend!

FAMILY CIRCUS 2026, 🤸‍♀️🎪✳️
WE ARE BACK!! 🥳💃🏻✨

We invite you on Saturday, September 12th at 15:00 - 17:00 hrs, to participate in our "Family Circus". Which children bring their parents, and their parents bring their children, to share and enjoy as a family the skills they can discover from the circus, whether AERIAL - HULA HOOPING - SPINNING PLATES - JUGGLING.

You will begin with a group activity/warm-up, followed by free play with a combination of different circus skills.
The space will be equipped with different devices such as hula hoops, balance toys, mats for basic acrobatic skills, aerial devices and other fun activities. The possibilities for play are endless as you are invited to explore the wonderful world of circus skills in a fun, creative and supportive environment working together as a family.

Please note that parents/caregivers/guardians are active participants in this class with their children.

Creative Intensive 2026 ✨

The Creative Intensive is an annual three week training on aerial technique and creativity. This training program for professionals was designed for aerialists who want to work on improving their technique and produce aerial acts, and also for dancers who want to get more aerial training and create an aerial dance solo.

The next announced dates are:

November 16th to December 5th 2026.

There are strictly 16 places total.

Deadline 6th September.

Director’s Lab applications CINARS
With Melissa Colello and Chantal McCormick

IACC, with funding from the Arts Council’s International Residency Initiatives Scheme (IRIS) is seeking two Irish-based/born emerging aerial dance directors to participate in a Director’s Lab in January/February 2027*. This lab will take place over two weeks in Montreal, Canada in partnership with TOHU. One Montreal-based and one Irish Director will upskill Irish-based/born emerging directors to develop their skills as a director / choreographer of aerial dance, exploring approaches to choreography and aerial dance making in a circus context.

Applicants should have existing experience in directing aerial dance/circus work, and should have a piece of work in development that they will bring to Montreal. Each emerging director will select two of their artists from this work in development to travel with them to Montreal to work together in this lab. Please note the venue cannot accommodate vertical dance against a wall.

The two directors selected (not their artists) will also attend CINARS this 8th-14th November 2026 in Montreal Canada. CINARS is a bi-annual event in Montreal, the leading international hub for the performing arts, bringing together agents, performing arts companies, presenters, and representatives from cultural institutions across every continent.

Deadline for applications is 6th September 2026.
