Well done to the many Dooneen athletes who represented their 'local area' and county with pride at the Community Games National Finals at SETU Carlow the past weekend 👏🔺💚

Well done to all who ran in the B.M.O.H hosted 'Sixmilebridge 6 Mile' in the Banner County today 👏.

Karen was 3rd woman in 46:49 with Sixmilebridge native Marion O'Halloran 'home' in 1:12:39. Husband and wife pair Geraldine Ryan and Mike Clarke clocked 54:48 and 49:41 respectively ☺️ 👏

B.M.O.H. is a Clare based athletics club with a rich history but had been inactive in recent years and this event, combined with a shorter children's run marked their 'restart'.

Surely the most location exotic location of any Dooneen athlete this weekend is Iceland where Declan Kennedy ran the Reykjavik Marathon in a time of 3:09:40 for 49th place 👏

Well done to all who ran the various Parkruns today. Niall Harris was 2nd at 'U.L' with Shane O'Sullivan (returning after a long absence) 4th (18:40) and J.P. Lawlor 5th in 19:26. Others from 'Dooneen Parish' included Finbar Aherne 21:26, Niall Bennis 22:03, June Clifford 27:03, Karen Raine 22:39, Kieran Edwards (friend of Dooneen 🙂 21:53) and of course expertly 'organised' by Run Director and club stalwart Eileen Reeves 👏👏

At Mungret times included Anthony Harty 21:42 and Catherine Sheehan 26:41.

Last but by no means least Marion O‘Halloran and her husband Patrick were Parkwalkers at the University in of Galway 👏👏.

Well done to all those who travelled south to the Rebel County for the St Finbarr's hosted Cork City 10K. Marcella McGrath picked up another 'pay-cheque' 💸as she was 1st O50 female in a time of 45:18. Other times included Mike Clarke 47:52, John Shier 49:07 and Geraldine Ryan 58:44. In 'the Kingdom' Aly Hogan O'Curry ran the Rose 🌹 of Tralee 5K in a time of 35:22.

Elsewhere a number of our athletes ran the Mount Hilary Trail Run in Co. Waterford 👏

He added another pair of Gold 'trinkets' in Santry at the National Championship yesterday, taking victory in the M60 100m in 13.40 and 200m in 27.31. 🥇

'Mines a double', well done to our 2 National Discus Champions at the Morton stadium in Santry today 👏👏.

2024 Clubperson of the year Olga Nedvede took Gold in the O35 Women's contest with a throw of 35.78m 👏🏆 .

Elsewhere John Sheehan was the overall winner of the 060 Male category (37.28m) from a total field of 17 👏🏅🎉

Ageing like wine, the two of you 🍷or maybe even champagne 🍾🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💥

**update** John later added Gold in the Javelin (30.77) plus Silver in the High Jump (1.30m) 👏 making an even more impressive weekend for Dooneen 🔥.

Lawlor 7th on his 50th Milestone run in 19:41. Other times at UL included Alison Flynn 23:12, Karen Raine 22:40, June Clifford 27:10, Brendan McMahon (23:19) Pamela Kirby (25:48) and her son Luke (25:49-who took this photo) - both 'friends' of the club 😊👏 Kieran Edwards another 'friend' in picture set a massive pb of 21:27 👏🏇🏆
