Well done to Eileen Reeves who completed the challenging Glenbeigh/Glencar Marathon (- challenging in terrain and conditions!) in a time of 5 hours and 18 minutes.👏💥

Kudos also to Marion O'Halloran who travelled to Austria for the Linz Parkrun, where in 24 degrees she produced her best time of the year of 33 minutes 14 seconds. Gut gemacht Marion und Patrick 👏 😀

Congratulations to Alan McCutcheon who ran a time of 9:10 in the 3000m (just outside his pb) for 15th place at the 72nd Cork City Sports Meet last night. Marcella McGrath is certainly 'faithful' to the Faithful County and for good reason.

She took another age category victory in the penultimate race in the Run Offaly 5K series, this time in 'Clara' in a time of 21:00.

Well done Marcella, after a 1 3/4 hour each way drive, very impressive 🎉😊🏅👏

North in the 'Banner County' Cillian Higgins was part of the 1st placed relay team at the gruelling 'Hell of the West Triathlon' in Kilkee today. His 10K split of 37:25 into a 456m elevation in windy conditions was a contribution to the team's success 🏅👏🙂

Well done also to Liz Wilmot who was part of 'Firecast team' which also placed well in the relay. Liz ran a 10K split of 44:42 on equally steep terrain and windy conditions, especially the first 5K which were mainly uphill. She did however 'appreciate the beautiful downhill finish which allowed for a strong negative split' 👏🏃🏻‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Well done to all 'Dooneeners' who did Parkrun this morning. Paul Naughton was 1st overall at UL with J.P. Lawlor 3rd. Sinead McDermott first woman at Mungret in 20:23. 👏

Elsewhere Marion O‘Halloran and her husband Patrick ran the Riemer Parkrun in Munich, Germany 🇩🇪, gut gemacht 👏🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Coillte Dundrum AC 10K
Known for being one of Munster, if not Ireland's flattest courses, with a total ascent of only 20 metres over 2 5K laps, 'Dundrum' certainly lends itself to fast times and Doonen athletes certainly produced some last night 🌳 🌳

First male for the club was Cian Aherne in 35:54, with Maria Maher best female in 43:30. Other times included Kevin Johnson 37:12, Seamus McCarthy 38:09, Brian Ahern 39:25, Declan Kennedy 39:34,Robert McCarthy 44:52, Shane Lillis 45:09, Mike Clarke 46:43, Brendan McMahon 46:35, Sinead McDermott 48:45, WIllie Gorman 50:36, Abe Henderson 53:00, Geraldine Ryan 53:53 and Eimear O'Malley 55:56 🏃‍♂️👏🏃🏻‍♂️🏃‍♀️

All of the above received an embroidered towel for their efforts which makes a welcome change from all those 'boring medals' 🥉🥈🎉🙂

The race, on it's 41st staging was won by William Maunsell of Clonmel in 29:58 and Niamh O'Mahony of Traleee in 34:41 🙂
