Women's Wellness Series β Part 1 π
For years, most exercise and nutrition advice was based on research done on men.
Dr. Stacy Sims has spent decades studying women's physiology and helping women understand how their bodies respond differently to exercise, nutrition and recovery.
One important thing her research shows - it is important to fuel your workouts.
Your body needs energy to build strength, support bone health and recover well.
For a deeper dive, Stacy Sims has an excellent TED Talk on this subject that I'd highly recommend - called βwomen are not small menβ

Such a nice review! Thank you Kevin. So glad you enjoyed the yoga classes. We have more and more men of all ages joining classes which is greatπ
Reviews really help small businesses and other people really like to hear from others π
If you enjoy the classes we offer, why not find us under Google Business and drop us a review? We would REALLY appreciate it and it helps a lot

Nutrition Series: Part 2 β Magnesium & Everyday Health
This week we're shining a light on one of the most important minerals in the body β Magnesium
Magnesium is involved in hundreds of processes in the body and plays a key role in supporting muscle function, energy production, recovery, sleep, stress management and bone health.
If you are regularly stressed out or drink a lot of coffee, train hard - you could be deficient in magnesium
Magnesium is essential for bone health because it needs to be in a ratino of 2:1 with Calcium.
Magnesium is a co - factor in many processes in your body.
Unless you really know you are eating magnesium rich foods and watching it carefully - this supplement we should all be taking - try a complex form with a mix of all the Magnesium types or ask your health food shop for guidance.
BUT OF COURSE GO WHOLE FOOD FIRST
The good news? There are plenty of delicious food sources -
PPumpkin seeds (one of the richest sources) - try toasted so yum!
Chia seeds and flaxseeds - soak the night before to make a pudding
Dark leafy greens like spinach or kale
Lentils, chickpeas and black beans - using tins of these makes it easier
Almonds and cashews
Dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
Whole grains such as quinoa and brown rice
Oily fish such as salmon and mackerel
A simple way to boost your intake is to add a tablespoon of seeds to your breakfast, include a serving of greens or legumes with your meals, and choose nuts or dark chocolate as a snack.
This series is all about giving you simple, practical tools to support your health from the inside out β alongside your movement and strength work

𦴠Your 30s are a critical decade for bone health.
Most women reach their peak bone mass by their late 20s to around age 30. After that, bone breakdown slowly begins to exceed bone formation.
The challenge? This decline is often completely silent. You won't feel your bones becoming weaker.
Bone loss can accelerate when key supports are missing:
β
Adequate protein intake
β
Regular weight-bearing exercise
β
Resistance training that challenges your muscles and bones
The good news? It's never too earlyβor too lateβto invest in your bone health.
Strength training sends a powerful signal to your body to maintain and build stronger bones, while adequate protein provides the building blocks your body needs to support healthy muscle and bone tissue.
Think of your 30s, 40s, and beyond as your opportunity to protect the foundation that will support you for decades to come.
