U15s Granville v Janesboro

Our first game of the season for our u15s which was gonna be a tough game from the start in div 2 took us away to Granville who where down from div 1. We started the game strong and settled in quick ,we had some chances early but couldn't find the net…. Unfortunately we conceded 3 goals in the first half, we gathered ourselves in the second half and kept pressing but tiredness kept in.

We were on the wrong side of some descions that went against us and we went 5-0 down but didn't give up and managed to grab 2 goals back late in the game 👏 We will bounce back and shake it off for our next match wendsday evening 👏👏👏

U13s d1 Geraldines 1-4 janesboro fc.

Our 1st game of the season from winning the division 2 league last year unbeaten and it brought on the task of a strong geraldines side down in Garryowen.

We started brightly and found ourselves a goal to the good through new signing Sean herir who has settled in very quickly with us 👏

Goal 2 came from a lovely phase of play and Niall let fly to the top left corner to go 2 ahead. Goal number 3 came before half time with some good defensive playing out from the back linking up with our midfield and then onto Niall who once again put the ball into the net to make it 0-3 at half time and starting to play some football 🙌

The dines started coming into the game and found some really good phases of play only for our defense and goal keeper being alert 🫣

They got their reward with 15 mins to go to make it 3-1 and at this stage dines where getting on top….. We made a few changes in positions and we got our 4th from Zack with a strike inside the box which went to the roof of the net to kill the game off 🙌

A really enjoying outing for our players this morning and its great to see our new lads Sean,Jayden and Christopher getting introduced in the black and white jersey .

U16 Mungret/Regional v Janesboro FC

Our 1st game of the season and our first game for our newly established U16s team saw us away to mungret regional

We started the game a bit nervous but soon settled and started playing some great football. We piled the pressure on and challenged for every ball, which saw us take the lead with a super shot from outside the box from our captain Darren moran saw it dip in over the keeper 1-0 🙌

We kept pressing and had a couple more chances that were denied on a few occasions. A quick brake from mungret caught us off gaurd and unfortunately equalised to make it 1-1 at half time.

Some changes in the second half saw us pressing hard making some good runs we were denied by the woodwork on a few occasions and with some great saves we just couldn't find the net.

A great display of football for our 1st game of the season ended 1-1. Very well done to every player huge effort put in onto the next one 👏⚽️
