Summer is nearly over, which means it’s time to get back in the pool 🏊🏼‍♂️

On the drive to Max’s first session back, he started playing with my stopwatch and somehow stopped it at exactly 0.09 seconds! ⏱️

Your challenge: try it yourself. Can you beat him? Let us know your best time!

When we arrived, the pool wasn’t available until 6 pm, so we turned the delay into an opportunity. We went wall climbing next door and used it as a fun pre pool land warm up 🧗‍♂️

The first swim back was deliberately light. No heavy sets and no pressure. We focused on:

💧 Feeling the water again
🏊 Head and body position
🎯 Technique and skills
🧠 Rebuilding confidence and connection with the water

This entire week is about finding the feel again and preparing Max’s body for club training next week.

The first week back isn’t about testing fitness. It’s about rebuilding the foundations properly.

One breath.
One stroke.
One heartbeat at a time.

Today reminded us of something important:

Young swimmers do not need to have everything figured out.
They just need to stay present in the moment in front of them.

Race by race.
Turn by turn.
Breath by breath.

That is how confidence is built.
That is how pressure becomes progress.

Not by chasing perfection.
By learning to stay calm enough to keep moving forward.

Today he wrote his own session.
Not perfect. Not fancy. His.

When swimmers start planning parts of their training, something shifts:
They stop “attending”.
They start owning.

Ownership builds awareness.
Awareness builds performance.

Between 9 and 15, the goal isn’t just volume.
It’s developing thinking swimmers.

You’re not raising a swimmer.
You’re raising a decision maker.

🏊‍♀️ At Diana’s Swim Academy, I don’t just teach swimming.
I support competitive swimmers aged 9–15 and their parents around their club training.

Because talent isn’t the issue.
Clarity usually is.

I help families understand:
▫️what matters at this stage
▫️what doesn’t
▫️how to support without overloading
▫️how to think long term

Swimming progress should not feel confusing.

And yes, something is coming soon for swim parents.

Not noise.
Not hype.
Structure.

Because raising a competitive swimmer requires more than extra sessions. It requires understanding.

Stay tuned.

⚪️ Swimming clubs do an important job.
But club training is only one piece of the puzzle.

🍲 Nutrition.
💧 Hydration.
🤸🏻‍♀️Land training.
🧘🏻‍♀️ Recovery.
🧠 Mindset.

And most importantly… PARENT support.

For age-group swimmers, what happens outside the pool often matters just as much as what happens inside it.

Do you think club training alone is enough for 9–15 year old swimmers? 🤷🏻‍♀️

⬇️ Comment YES or NO and why.
