As the curtain finally came down on our 2026 football season, it ended exactly how we wanted it to – with another piece of silverware added to this season’s incredible haul.

What a way to finish!

Paul Goodwins U15B team were crowned Cup Champions in style, beating our closest rivals Granville Rangers 5-0 in a rain-soaked Jackman Park. Having been on the wrong end of two results against the same opposition earlier in the season, we knew we needed a big response – and what a response it was!

We got off to the perfect start when tricky winger Liam skipped past two defenders before delivering a pinpoint cross to the back post, where the arriving Scott made no mistake with his finish to put us 1-0 up.

That quickly became 2-0 straight from the restart. Fionn won back possession brilliantly before sending the talented Robert through. He beat two or three defenders before unleashing an unstoppable rocket from 30 yards into the top corner. What a strike!

Just before half-time we made it 3-0 when top scorer Warren got the goal his performance deserved after great work by Charlie, showing great footwork before firing home to leave us firmly in control at the break.

The second half started exactly as expected, with Granville flying out of the traps and taking the game to us. However, our outstanding back line of Dean, Noar, Matas, Leon and Jamie stood tall, restricting Granville to long-range efforts.

Midway through the half we made it 4-0. Liam was at it again, bursting down the wing before squaring across goal, just as he did for the opener, and Scott was on hand once more to finish confidently from eight yards.

Liam then deservedly got his own name on the scoresheet to make it 5-0 and put the perfect gloss on a superb team performance. The back up of Kaleed, Yaman, Alex, Amoro and Alex kept the pace up and never left it from when introduced.

Massive credit must go to Granville Rangers. They never stopped battling, made life difficult throughout and showed great professionalism in the way they handled both the game and the result. They’re a very good side with an excellent management team, and we wish them all the very best.

Captain Warren proudly lifted the trophy to the delight of everyone in blue and yellow, bringing the curtain down on another memorable season. Paul and Robert can now enjoy a very well-earned break after all their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

Fairview Rangers would also like to thank the Limerick District League Schoolboy/Girl Academy Committee for everything they do throughout the season. Without the countless volunteers behind the scenes, football simply wouldn’t happen. We’d also like to thank both branches of the Referee groups, IRIS - Limerick Soccer Referees Limerick East Isrs for their commitment all year. As we always say, without the referees, there is no game.

Finally, well done to every single player, coach, parent, carer and family involved with Fairview Rangers this season. Whether you lifted trophies, took part every week or simply made lifelong friendships through football, the club is incredibly proud of each and every one of you.

Thanks to PRO - Johnny C and Pat R for everything all season, it is very much appreciated.. brilliant reporting as usual..

Enjoy the well-earned break, and we’ll see you all again next season.

12B League Cup Champions!

A massive well done to our U12B team, who were crowned League Cup Champions tonight after a fantastic victory over Corbally United on the superb Mungret FC astroturf pitch.

We took the lead through the prolific Sam, who finished brilliantly after great work from Mason and Harry. Early in the second half, a superb corner was met first time on the half-volley by Harry, who produced an outstanding finish to give us a deserved 2-0 lead and put us firmly in control.

We created several more chances, but credit must go to the Corbally goalkeeper, who made a number of excellent saves to keep his side in the game. Corbally pulled one back to set up a tense finish, but our defence stood strong. Zoe was excellent in goal, while Aidan, Cameron and Killian were outstanding at the back, ensuring there would be no further goals.

Across the pitch, Harry, Eugene, Mason, Rian, Ashton, Alfie and Evan all worked tirelessly, producing an unbelievable team performance from start to finish. What makes this achievement even more impressive is that this group has been playing a year up all season, narrowly missing out on the league title by just one point.

A huge congratulations also to the management team of Shane, Darren and Niall, who have worked wonders with these boys throughout the season. Their hard work, commitment and belief have been rewarded with a well-deserved trophy.

Another fantastic piece of silverware added to Fairview’s incredible season.

Congratulations to everyone involved

History made! 🔵🟡

Last night, history was made for our club and for schoolboy football in Limerick as our Under 15 Premier Cup Final was awarded as a walkover, completing an incredible season for this exceptional group of players.

This outstanding team has achieved something truly remarkable by winning the quadruple:

A massive congratulations must go to the management team of Wes, Jeff, Adam and Haytem, who have worked tirelessly with this squad. Their dedication has helped this group win the Premier League for three consecutive seasons and produce some astonishing statistics this year:

So the curtain has finally come down on our U12s season, and what a way to finish — as Cup Champions! 🏆🔵🟡

Tonight we travelled to Mungret to face league champions Aisling Annacotty in a fitting League 1 vs 2 showdown, and it certainly did not disappoint.

We fell behind inside the opening 45 seconds, but this group has shown incredible character all season and never let it affect them. Within seven minutes we were level when the prolific Marky finished brilliantly after excellent link-up play from Scott and Leon.

Soon after, we took the lead. A long ball from Bobby caught the Aisling defence out, Scott closed down the goalkeeper’s clearance, and when the ball broke to Marky, his quick feet and vision set Scott through on goal. Scott made no mistake and calmly finished.
We thought we had a third moments later when a superb diagonal ball from Carsten released Scott, who finished brilliantly past the keeper, only for the offside flag to somehow deny him despite coming from behind the defender.

Aisling responded well and began to grow back into the game. With five minutes remaining they forced an error and capitalised from the resulting free kick to level the match. We had two fantastic opportunities to win it in the dying moments but were denied by the post and some outstanding defending from Aisling.

Extra time beckoned.

Just three minutes into extra time we regained the lead. A brilliant pass from Dan sent Kyle clear and his looping effort sailed over the Aisling keeper to make it 3-2.

From there, the boys took control. The defence of Rian, Bobby, Carsten, Jack, Cameron and Aaron were immense, while Leon, Dan, Scott, Kyle, Marky, Ben and Fabian emptied the tank and gave absolutely everything. Their efforts ensured the U12 Premier Cup Trophy returned to the Green for the second year in a row.

A huge congratulations to the management team of Shane, Gary and Shane for their incredible work throughout the season, and to all the parents for their unwavering support every step of the way.

National Cup Semi-finalists,
League runners-up.
Cup Champions.
A season to remember.
