Limerick U16 footballers played Cork in the final of the Munster tournament. The team included Darragh Scully, Cillian Sheehan and Louis Fitzgerald.

In a tightly contested game Cork were 5-4 up at halftime but a strong second half saw Limerick 2 points up approaching full time . A surge from Cork saw them level it up into injury time and 2 more points in the 4 added minutes saw Cork over the line on a score line of 0-12 to 0-10.

Hard luck to the lads yesterday, it's been a fantastic season which also saw a win against Kerry last week. Well done to the Monaleen boys and the Limerick U16 squad

Monaleen GAA is thrilled to launch a GAA Nursery Programme for boys, born in 2021.

This is a brilliant chance for young children to take their first steps into the wonderful world of Gaelic games - learning new hurling and gaelic football skills, making friends and having loads of fun in a safe and encouraging environment 🥳

Starting Friday, September 18th at 6pm in Monaleen GAA clubhouse grounds (V94 T9W4).

If you’re a parent keen to get involved in coaching, we’d love to hear from you —just let us know!

We can’t wait to welcome our youngest players to the Monaleen family.

Monaleen GAA officially launched its 2026 Golf Classic today at Ballyneety Golf Club, with the event set for Friday, 11th September.

Shane Power of Hogan Dowling Mc Namara Solicitors, the main sponsor of this year’s Golf Classic, attended the launch. Monaleen GAA would like to sincerely thank Hogan Dowling Mc Namara Solicitors for their generous support and continued commitment to the club.

Also, in attendance were Audrey Ruschitzko and Rachel Stack, representing Monaleen LGFA, and James Johnson, representing Monaleen Camogie. James also represented the Johnson family, who have generously donated the Golf Classic Cup in memory of Deborah Johnson

Members of the Golf Classic organising committee, Pa Ryan and Declan O’Dalaigh, were also present, along with Jim Canny, Chairperson of Monaleen GAA, who attended to support the launch on behalf of the club.

This year’s Golf Classic will be hosted by Ballyneety Golf Club, a venue that will take on an even greater profile in the coming years when it hosts the Junior Ryder Cup in 2027. The opportunity for Monaleen GAA to hold its Golf Classic at such a prestigious venue adds an extra dimension to what promises to be a fantastic event.

The competition will be played as a Champagne Scramble, offering teams an enjoyable and competitive format. In line with Golf Ireland handicap limits, the maximum handicap will be 20 for men and 28 for women. Non-affiliated players will play off a maximum handicap of 18.

A team of three costs €300.There are also a number of sponsorship opportunities available: A green can be sponsored for €200 and a tee box for €100

The Golf Classic promises to be an important fundraising and social event for Monaleen GAA, bringing together club members, local businesses, supporters and the wider community for a day of golf at Ballyneety Golf Club.

With tee times, green sponsorships and tee box sponsorships still available, businesses and individuals interested in supporting the event or entering a team are encouraged to contact the Monaleen GAA Golf Classic organising committee: Kevin Brosnan, Brendan Flood, Declan O’Dalaigh, Tony Power or Pa Ryan.
