Our U15s had their 1st League match earlier today away to Lisnagry. It was a great battle from the off as both sides tried to break each other down but both defences were on top . 20 minutes in Lisnagry won a penalty. There striker went low to the right with his shot but our Goalkeeper Jake Hartigan got his fingertips to it to divert it out for a corner. It was a great save. At half time It remained scoreless. The effort put in by the team up to this stage was massive and it was great to see it continue in the second half. With 15 minutes remaining Lisnagry head the front with a well taken goal. Credit to the lads they never gave up and Sean Guerin got on the end of a fine free kick from Zach Kiely to deservedly put us level. Both sides had chances to win it but a draw in the end was a fair result. The effort today was massive from the whole squad which we were delighted with. I would like to single out Jake Hartigan and Zach Kiely for a special mention as both had big games. Lads we would also like to say a massive thank you to cfieldconstruction_
who generously sponsored the kids a new set of Jerseys , shorts and socks which we are very grateful to have. And also thanks to all of those who came out to Scanlon Park to support the team, as always much appreciated lads 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️

⚽️⚽️LDL PREMIER DIVISION RESULT⚽️⚽️
Moyross Utd 1-4 Fairview Rangers
Scorer: Lee Quinn
After back to back league title successes and promotion to Premier for the first time in nearly a decade, this summer saw a decent portion of that squad exit. It wasnt the most straight forward of summers in terms of incomings. The whys and why nots are a recurring theme in Limerick Junior Soccer and is a separate debate in itself. What we did bring in was a few young, talented & hungry lads eager to play for the badge and learn their trade.
Tonight we had 8 players play their first ever match in premier and 4 of those - Rian Goggin(19), Lee O Halloran(18), Leon Fitzgerald(18), Evan Mullane(17) are under the age of 20. With a couple more of similar age absent, overall it's a very young squad backed by a few more experienced heads that we enter the season with.
We welcomed defending champions Fairview for our first league game - a daunting task. When we conceded after just 20 seconds everyone watching must have feared the worst. These boys didnt drop the heads though and it was near the half hour mark before View found the net again from a rebound off a penalty which was brilliantly saved by Mikey O Donoghue. The third was scored in first half stoppage time. Again, it would have been easy to drop the heads but they went again in the second half and held their own. We got our reward with 15 minutes to play when Lee Quinn scored from the spot following a foul on Craig Collopy-Duggan. Fairview notched their fourth deep in stoppage time to seal the result. They are an incredible side.
Despite the result and scoreline, our lads can be proud of the effort. The timing of the goals is evident but for large parts in between we put up a display full of heart and positivity. We have 4 important players out injured currently and another 2 to return from their deployment in Lebanon in a few weeks so they will add quality and more depth to the squad. The pleasing thing is every squad member has bought in and will give 100% effort.
Thank you also to John Phillips for his sponsorship of the match last night. Much appreciated.
Next up is Killmallock away on Sunday🔴⚪️🔴

Moyross Utd A vs Fairview Rangers
Venue: Moyross Sports Field
Kick-Off 6:30pm
We entertain the current premier league winners Fairview Rangers in our first game back in the top flight.
It's a sign that 2 years of hard work has paid off when you get to host the most successful junior soccer team in Ireland!
We hope to get a huge crowd out to support the lads this evening. It’s gonna be extremely tough but this is the type of fixture we’ve worked very very hard to be able to be involved in.
Best of luck to the lads tonight 🔴⚪️🔴
