Last Sunday, The Bush Cycling club took on the 6 Counties Challenge to raise funds for Children’s Health Foundation. ♥️

We had a total of 18 members, 6 who took on our 100km route and 12 who took on the 200km route. In total, 4,800km was cycled in one day by our members. 👏

In the past few days, we’ve seen the tragic loss of two more cyclists’ lives on Irish roads. Our thoughts are with their families, friends, and everyone in the cycling community who feels the weight of this all-too-familiar heartbreak.

The situation is urgent. Each life lost is a reminder of how far we still have to go to make our roads truly safe for everyone, especially those who choose to travel on two wheels.

We welcome recent public comments by Cycling Ireland that recognise these challenges and call for greater safety, accountability, and respect for cyclists on our roads. It’s a meaningful and necessary step in the right direction.

Now is the time for serious, respectful conversations, among government, law enforcement, communities, and organisations about the root causes of this crisis, which too often is drivers driving too fast without due care and attention. We must be honest, collaborative, and committed to change.

Cyclist safety is not just a cycling issue. It’s a shared responsibility.

Another fantastic turnout for our St Paddy’s Day weekend spin ✅ 🚲

Another few KMs in the bank today! 🚲 Great coffee and breakfast in as always.

We are always looking for new joiners! Feel free to reach out if you are interested in coming out for a spin on Sundays @ 9am. ⭐

Last June, The Bush Cycling Club came together to raise much needed funds for the Curragh Family Resource Centre, which serves as an important lifeline for families that are struggling in the local community. 🏠

On Saturday past, it was a really special occasion for the club to be able to present a total of €7,618.12, which we raise by cycling a combined total of 3,600km over one day. 🚴

A huge thank you goes to everyone that donated to this worthy cause and to everyone who offered such great support during the cycle. Germaines Friel's of Straffan 🥪
