It is with immense sadness that we learned of the passing of Robbie Ireton.
Robbie was a true pillar of the Riverchapel and Courtown community throughout his lifetime. From the very beginning, he played an instrumental role in Riverchapel Community Complex as one of its original directors.
Robbie devoted countless hours to the committee and was a driving force behind the vision that transformed a greenfield site into the sporting and community complex we are so proud of today. His generosity, determination and tireless commitment helped create something that will benefit generations to come.
Robbie remained a vibrant and engaging presence until his final days, always ready with a tale to tell and a story to share. Through those stories, he kept us connected to the people, places and days gone by. We will miss these times.
His passing is an enormous loss to the complex and to the entire Riverchapel and Courtown community. Robbie’s legacy will always live on in the complex he worked so hard to establish and in the community he served so faithfully.
On behalf of everyone at Riverchapel Community Complex, we extend our deepest sympathies to Robbie’s beloved wife Mary; his children Ellen, Katherina, Joseph, Robert and Thomas; his grandchildren; and the entire Ireton family.
Rest up now Robbie - we will be thinking of you everytime we order a whiskey and 7up.
