Why does night-time eating feel impossible to control, even when you’ve done everything “right” all day?
If you’re a mum, evenings can feel like the one bit of the day that’s actually yours. Kids are down, house is quiet, and that’s often when the snacking starts.
🍷🍫Wine. Chocolate. Whatever’s in the cupboard. Not because you’re hungry, but because you finally get a minute and food becomes part of how you enjoy it.
Contrary to what you might believe, It’s NOT. a willpower or discipline problem. 👎
You were “good” all day, and evenings become the reward, the wind-down, the “I earned this” moment, all in one. That’s usually the real reason the scale won’t budge no matter how on-track you were earlier.
➡️𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀. 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗼𝗽𝘀.
✔️You don’t need to eat to make the stress of the day disappear. Give it a bit of time and that urge usually passes on its own.
✔️The more comfortable you get sitting with it, tired, touched out, bored, whatever it is, the less you need food to fix it.
This is exactly part of what I help clients work through in my signature 1-1 StrongFit Shape System, actual tools for the evening snacking that involve behaviour change, not a diet.
🍫DM me “STRONG” and let’s chat about whether it’s a fit. New intake starts in September.

This time of year I hear the same thing from female clients. “I’ve been so rubbish, so hopeless, so unmotivated all summer.”
NO you haven’t.
You’ve had any type of routine you had blown apart. Kids home all day, holidays, camps, BBQs, weddings, and trying to feed everyone on top of it.
Of course exercise and eating well slipped down the bottom of your list. That’s not a lack of discipline. That’s just what happens in summer.
And this year especially, if you’re Irish, you’ll know we’ve just had the most consistent good weather in decades. ☀️Of course you were out enjoying it!
🍦A few extra ice creams and skipped walks, gym sessions because it was too hot? Thats completely ok. Getting back to training and eating sensibly doesn’t need to be some big dramatic reset. Start small.

If the gym isn’t giving you results, this might be why. And it’s not because you are lazy👇
You know how it goes with a gym membership. You sign up all fired up, ready to change things.
Then the first week you’re tired after work and you skip it.🤭
The next week the traffic’s a nightmare and by the time you’d get there and back, half your evening’s gone.
Here’s what I see over and over with gym memberships:
1. You’ve got to get changed, drive there, fight the traffic, then get changed again when you get home.
That’s an hour gone before you’ve even trained.
2. You get there and the machine you need is taken, so you’re standing around waiting, or you just do something else instead.
What if none of that stood in your way?
In 20 years as a personal trainer and fitness coach, I’ve worked with a lot of clients. And here’s what I’ve noticed. 👉The ones paying for expensive gym memberships often get worse results than the ones training at home with a kettlebell.
Here’s why…..
At home, there’s no getting changed, no traffic, no waiting around for equipment. You can train in your pyjamas if you want. No driving, so no time wasted getting there and back. And your kettlebells are always there.
That’s why two kettlebells and a mat will get you further than any gym membership. It’s not about the equipment, it’s about actually doing it.
Drop a 💪 below if you’d rather train at home than deal with the gym.

You might have bought a kettlebell with the BEST intentions… and now it’s sitting in the corner giving you the occasional guilt trip 😂(or its an expensive doorstopper)
Or maybe you do pick one up at the gym or follow the odd workout at home, but you’ve never really got to the point where you feel confident using it regularly.
And that’s really what this carousel is about.
Because whether you recognised yourself as the Worrier, the “Not For Me” woman, the Starter-Stopper or the Perfectionist, there’s usually something deeper happening underneath it.
*hint-its not laziness!
𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
Maybe you’re worried you’ll hurt yourself or that your technique is wrong.
Maybe you look at other women using kettlebells and think, “I’m nowhere near that fit.”
Maybe you’ve started and stopped so many times that you’re fed up with yourself for not sticking to it.
Or maybe you’ve watched SO many videos and saved so many workouts that you’ve completely overthought where to even begin. 😩
And if you’re in your 40s, you probably already KNOW you should be lifting weights.
You don’t need me shouting that at you too.
You need to know what to do, how to do it safely, where to start and how to make it 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆.
Because I want you to get to the point where picking up a kettlebell isn’t this big intimidating thing you keep meaning to do.
It’s just something you do.
So tell me below — which one sounded most like you?
1, 2, 3 or 4?
No judgement. I’ve heard every single one of them before 😂
And if you want help getting more confident with kettlebells while also working on losing weight, your food and the bigger picture, ….

“I feel like I’m doing all the right things, but nothing is happening.”
I hear versions of this all the time from women in their 40s.
They’re walking. They’re trying to eat well. Maybe they’re going to the gym. They’ve tried counting calories, cutting carbs, fasting, doing more cardio... often they’ve been trying to lose weight on and off for 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀.
So yes, eating less and moving more might be part of the answer. But HOW do we actually make that work for you?
🔎That’s where I want to go through things with a finer-toothed comb…examples:
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆? Are you getting enough protein? Are you barely eating all day and then starving in the evening? What happens when you’re stressed, tired or bored?
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲? Are you actually lifting weights, or is most of your exercise walking and cardio? How’s your sleep? And what keeps knocking you off track?
That’s the stuff I want to know.
Because your situation is a lot more nuanced than simply being told to eat less and move more.
Inside my signature 1:1 fat-loss programme, StrongFit Shape System, we look at the whole picture💪your food, mood, weight training, movement, lifestyle, habits and what’s actually getting in the way of you losing the weight.
Then we work out what needs changing for YOU, rather than throwing another diet or list of rules at you.
If you’re a woman in your 40s with around a stone or more to lose and you’re thinking, “Yep, this is me,” 𝗗𝗠 𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗡𝗚 and we can chat about how my signature 1:1 program StrongFit Shape System can help. I currently have €100 off if you sign up before the end of August.

Even after 20 years in the fitness industry, this still floored me…..😤
I’d spent over a decade working my way up as a pro kettlebell athlete. Id been a personal trainer for over 20 years. Losing weight had never really been a problem for me, I knew how to train, I knew how to eat. I thought I had my body completely figured out.🤔
𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗽𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲. The kettlebell training that used to get me results wasn’t working. My eating habits needed to change and I didn’t know why.
On top of that, I was dealing with anxiety I’d never experienced before. And I was too embarrassed to admit that, as “the expert,” I didn’t have the answers this time. 😲
✔️Swipe through the carousel and I’ll take you through it properly — but along the way I learned a lot: how to actually eat for my body now, how to train differently, how to manage anxiety I’d never dealt with before, and that asking for help isn’t a weakness.
Looking back, I’m grateful for all of it. It taught me things about fat loss and training in your 40s I never would’ve learned otherwise, and it’s exactly why I do what I do now.💕
So here’s the good news: You DON’T have to figure this out the hard way like I did. I’ve put together my Fat Loss & Perimenopause Cheat Sheet with everything I wish I’d known sooner.
👉🏻 Comment “𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗘𝗧” and I’ll send it straight over.
