With the FIFA World Cup currently underway, I think this is the perfect opportunity to introduce a project I have been working on for several years.

I'd like to share my passion for football with all of you.

At the moment, work is still ongoing on the artwork and visual design. The graphics you see are only previews and will continue to evolve, but they already show the direction in which the project is heading.

⚽ **I DARE YOU!!!** is a tactical football board game built around a complete football match simulation.

Each player takes on the role of a manager, building a squad from scratch and leading it to glory.

Before the match even begins, you'll enter the transfer market. Every player has their own personality and attitude. You might encounter a footballer who refuses to join your club, a difficult superstar who demands special treatment, or a loyal player who is extremely hard to convince to leave his current team.

Only the best managers will be able to secure every transfer they need.

And that's just the beginning.

Once the squads are assembled, players take to the pitch where managers will make decisions throughout multiple turns that directly affect the outcome of the match.

Players lose stamina, team morale rises and falls, motivation becomes crucial, VAR decisions can change everything, and dramatic late-game moments can turn victory into defeat within seconds.

In the football board game I DARE YOU!!!, coaches play a crucial role right from the very start of the match. Each coach has several attributes that are essential to begin the game.

At the beginning, players draw or choose two coach cards and then select the one that best fits their playstyle. Next, item cards are drawn, which can be used during the game. After that, players choose tactic cards that best match their formation.

Finally, using the dedicated “Player Acquisition” deck, players move on to one of the most exciting stages of the game, the transfer window.

Na starcie gracze losują lub wybierają po dwie karty trenerów, a następnie decydują się na tego, który najlepiej pasuje do ich stylu gry. Kolejnym krokiem jest dobieranie kart przedmiotów, które będzie można wykorzystać w trakcie rozgrywki. Następnie gracze dobierają karty taktyk, najlepiej dopasowane do wybranego ustawienia.

Na koniec, korzystając z dedykowanej talii „Pozyskiwanie zawodników”, gracze przechodzą do jednego z najbardziej emocjonujących etapów gry, czyli okienka transferowego.

Throughout the history of board games, over 970 football themed titles have been released, which clearly shows how competitive this genre is, as confirmed by the BoardGameGeek list.
My goal is for I DARE YOU!!! to reach the TOP 10 football board games of all time.

The project is designed as a full football match simulation, covering nearly every aspect of a real game. Players have access to all possible tactical formations, and each of them takes on the role of a coach trying to build the strongest possible team.

This is not an easy task, as only an experienced coach will be able to convince a true star player to join the squad. If that fails, it is always possible to create a team of average players who may rise to greatness or completely fall apart. Another option is to rely on youth academy players and try to achieve something remarkable with them.

The game is turn based. One half consists of an average of 12 to 15 turns, and each turn includes 12 to 14 actions, depending on the players’ style.

During the match, many different activities are available, such as movement, sprinting, passing, crossing, shoulder to shoulder challenges, dribbling, intercepting loose balls, throw ins, corner kicks, free kicks, penalty kicks, sliding tackles, goalkeeper saves, long goal kicks and fast counter attacks. The gameplay is supported by many micro rules that are very easy to learn while adding significant depth to the simulation.

It may happen that a shot deflects off another player and ends up in the goal as a so called ricochet, further increasing realism and unpredictability.

The coach can make up to three substitutions from four available substitutes. It is also possible that the best player starts the match on the bench, for example because he arrived late to training and the coach decided to set an example.

Referee decisions and the VAR system have a strong influence on the match, ensuring that every game feels different. Tactic cards played during the match force the opponent’s defense to constantly react, while players must also deal with time pressure and decreasing stamina.

Sprinting reduces stamina, while sliding tackles carry the risk of injury. When stamina drops to a critical level, the coach must decide whether to make a substitution or leave the player on the pitch, hoping he survives until the final whistle or risking a serious injury.

Arguing with the referee may result in a red card and an early exit from the match.

Items and form tokens can slightly help achieve better results, but the key question remains whether the team is mentally strong enough to succeed.

Additionally, the game will feature the option to purchase special abilities for players. Over 100 different legendary abilities ensure that every team is unique and every match feels different.

I DARE YOU!!! is not just another dice rolling game with cards and tokens. It is a true football match simulation with all its elements, emotions and unpredictability.

The goal of the project is to create the ultimate match experience, which is exactly what we are currently refining during playtests.

Moim celem jest, aby projekt I DARE YOU!!! znalazł się w TOP 10 najlepszych planszowych gier piłkarskich.

Projekt zakłada pełną symulację meczu piłkarskiego, obejmującą niemal wszystkie aspekty prawdziwego spotkania. Gracze mają do dyspozycji wszystkie możliwe formacje taktyczne, a każdy z nich wciela się w rolę trenera, który próbuje zbudować jak najlepszą drużynę.

Zadanie to nie jest proste, ponieważ tylko doświadczony trener będzie w stanie przekonać prawdziwą gwiazdę do dołączenia do zespołu. Jeśli się to nie uda, zawsze można stworzyć drużynę przeciętnych zawodników, którzy mogą wznieść się na wyżyny umiejętności albo całkowicie się załamać. Inną opcją jest postawienie na juniorów ze szkółki i próba osiągnięcia z nimi czegoś wielkiego.

Gra jest turowa. Jedna połowa meczu to średnio od 12 do 15 tur, a każda tura składa się z 12 do 14 akcji, w zależności od stylu gry zawodników.

Na przebieg spotkania wpływają decyzje sędziego oraz system VAR, dzięki czemu każda rozgrywka jest inna. Karty taktyki zagrywane w trakcie meczu zmuszają przeciwnika do ciągłej obrony, a jednocześnie trzeba pamiętać o nieustannym upływie czasu i spadającej kondycji zawodników.

Wykonywanie sprintów powoduje utratę kondycji, a wślizgi niosą ze sobą ryzyko kontuzji. Gdy kondycja spadnie do krytycznego poziomu, należy zdecydować, czy dokonać zmiany, czy zostawić zawodnika na boisku, licząc na to, że dotrwa do końca spotkania lub ryzykując poważną kontuzję.

Dyskusja z sędzią może zakończyć się czerwoną kartką i przedwczesnym opuszczeniem boiska.

Przedmioty oraz żetony dyspozycji mogą w niewielkim stopniu pomóc w osiągnięciu dobrego wyniku, jednak kluczowe pozostaje pytanie, czy drużyna będzie wystarczająco silna psychicznie, aby odnieść sukces.

Dodatkowo w grze pojawi się możliwość zakupienia specjalnych umiejętności dla zawodników. Ponad 100 różnych legendarnych umiejętności sprawia, że każda drużyna jest wyjątkowa, a każdy mecz niepowtarzalny.

I DARE YOU!!! to nie jest zwykła turlanka z kartami i żetonami. To prawdziwa symulacja meczu piłkarskiego ze wszystkimi jego elementami, emocjami i nieprzewidywalnością.

Celem projektu jest stworzenie idealnego doświadczenia meczowego, nad czym obecnie intensywnie pracujemy podczas testów.

In the basic version of “I DARE YOU!!!”, the players are represented by wooden tokens depicting footballers. Ultimately, they will take the shape of football jerseys with numbers, to truly capture the stadium atmosphere.

Each coach commands their own squad, sending it onto the pitch, using tactics, a wide range of special plays and, with a bit of luck, fighting all the way for victory.
