Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher TD has welcomed confirmation from Dara Calleary, Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, that €229,520 has been approved for five community organisations across the Donegal Gaeltacht.
The capital funding has been awarded under the Community and Language Supports Programme and will support the refurbishment of community facilities, the construction of new facilities and the purchase of specialist equipment.
Cumann Gailf Chloich Cheann Fhaola – €54,594
An additional €54,594 has been approved for the construction of the club’s new clubhouse, bringing the total grant approved for the project to €382,155.
The new clubhouse will include offices, changing rooms, storage facilities, lockers, a social area, kitchen, bar and toilets.
Pat the Cope Gallagher Welcomes €229,520 for Five Donegal Gaeltacht Projects
Deputy Pat the Cope Gallagher TD has welcomed confirmation of €229,520 in funding for five community organisations across the Donegal Gaeltacht under the Community and Language Supports Programme.
The funding will support a range of important projects, including the refurbishment and development of community facilities, new infrastructure and the purchase of specialist equipment.
🔹 Comharchumann Thoraí – €128,868 towards the refurbishment and development of An Club on Tory Island.
🔹 Cumann Gailf Chloich Cheann Fhaola – €54,594 towards the construction of the club’s new clubhouse, bringing total grant support to €382,155.
🔹 Coiste Forbartha an Fháil Charraigh – €19,390 for a new wall and fence around the car park at Ionad Pobail Naomh Fionnáin.
🔹 Coiste Forbartha Chnoc Fola – €17,434 to upgrade the fire alarm system at Ionad Pobail Chnoc Fola.
🔹 Áras Ghaoth Dobhair – €9,234 to purchase an interactive activity table to support physical and cognitive activity for residents, particularly those living with dementia.
Pat the Cope Gallagher welcomed the investment and thanked Minister Dara Calleary for recognising the importance of these projects and for taking a personal interest in each of them.
He also commended the organisations and local communities for the considerable work undertaken to bring these projects forward. These investments will support and strengthen community facilities and deliver lasting benefits across the Donegal Gaeltacht.
