Ozone was founded because we were unhappy with what the fitness industry had become. People joined a gym and few got any results. Health and Fitness clubs exist for you and to help you improve the quality of your lives and if they aren't doing this then they are no good to you. This is who we are. πŸŽ’ The school routine is coming back.

And very quickly the calendar starts filling up again.

School runs.

Work.

Activities.

Appointments.

Shopping.

Meals.

Everything everyone else needs.

And it's incredibly easy for your own health to quietly slip back to the bottom of the list.

This isn't about feeling guilty.

And it definitely isn't about suddenly trying to be perfect.

It's just a reminder that you deserve a place in the routine too.

That might mean:

πŸ’ͺ Two training sessions each week
🚢 A regular walk
πŸ₯— Getting some structure back into meals
😴 Going to bed a little earlier
πŸ“… Actually putting time for yourself in the diary

You don't need to overhaul your whole life.

Just make sure that when the routine returns…

you don't disappear from it.

Does this feel familiar at this time of year? πŸ‘‡

You don't need 25 different exercises to build a strong body.

Start with these three basic movement patterns:

πŸ’ͺ PULL
Think carrying, pulling and keeping your back strong.

πŸ’ͺ PUSH
Think pushing doors, getting yourself up and maintaining upper-body strength.

πŸ’ͺ HINGE
Think picking something up from the floor and keeping your hips and back strong.

They're simple movements, but they're some of the foundations of staying strong and capable as we get older.

And that's really what strength training should be about for most of us.

Not lifting the biggest weight in the gym.

Not training like a bodybuilder.

Just building a body that makes everyday life easier.

Pull. Push. Hinge. (and squat from last week)

Keep those four in your training programme and you're covering a lot of bases.

Your routine probably isn’t failing because you lack motivation

It might simply be too ambitious.

We often create our health plans around the week we *wish* we had:

πŸ‹οΈ 4 workouts
πŸ₯— Perfect meals
🚢 10,000 steps every day
😴 Early nights
βœ… Everything going to plan

Then real life happens.

Work gets busy.
The kids need you.
Plans change.
Energy drops.

And suddenly we feel like we’ve β€œfallen off.”

Instead, build a πŸ‘‰ minimum plan πŸ‘ˆ for the weeks when life is hectic.

Maybe that looks like:

βœ… 2 workouts
βœ… Protein at your main meals
βœ… A short walk each day
βœ… Getting to bed at a sensible time

It doesn’t have to be perfect.

It just has to keep you moving forward.

Don’t build a routine that only works when life is easy. Build one that works when life gets busy too.

Save this for the next mad week. πŸ’ͺ

Thinking about Small Group PT but not sure what to expect?

At Ozone, we don't simply sign you up and send you into a class.
Your journey starts with a private consultation and assessment where we get to know you β€” your fitness, lifestyle, nutrition and goals.

From there, you'll complete a New Start session before progressing into our Small Group PT programme.

And with only 6 clients per trainer, you can progress at your own pace with individual coaching throughout.

No pressure to keep up.
No feeling lost in a crowd.
Just professional coaching, accountability and support.

Desk. Car. School run. Repeat. πŸ˜…

If your shoulders are starting to feel the effects of sitting, driving and busy days, you don’t necessarily need a complicated mobility routine.

Try these three simple movements:

βœ… Band pull-aparts
βœ… Band pass-throughs
βœ… Thoracic stretch

A few minutes of movement can be a great way to break up long periods of sitting and get your upper body moving again.

The key isn’t doing 30 minutes of mobility once every few weeks.

It’s doingΒ a little, regularly.

πŸ“ŒΒ Save this and give it a try tonight.

A great night out with some wonderful members 🍻😊

Last night, some of our clients and staff got together for a relaxed evening at β€” no workouts, no stopwatches, just good company and plenty of laughs.

One of the nicest things about being part of a fitness club is the friendships that grow along the way. β™₯️

Training together is one thing, but getting the chance to chat, catch up and spend time together outside the gym is just as important.

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such an enjoyable night.

And thanks to the team at lucas bar for looking after us again, great spot for parties and events πŸ‘Œ

We were even treated to a tune from master uilinn pipe player Blackie O Connell 🎡

Here’s to more good nights, good conversations and good memories together. ❀️
