Dunmanway Town Ladies are getting ready for the new season and we’re looking for new faces to join the team! 💚🤍

Whether you’re an experienced player or completely new to the game, everyone is welcome! All you need is a good attitude and a bit of craic! 🤩 Any under 18’s can join with parents permission! ⚽️

Dunmanway Town U15 Girls started brightly in their Sunday game VS Clonakilty with an early goal by Kiera Kelly after a great through ball by Cadhla McCarthy 🤩
Town conceded a goal soon after to let clon back into the game!

Town pushed hard creating some great chances but found the clon keeper in great form 🧤
Clon took the lead early in the 2nd half and went 3-1 up as the clon girls played some great football⚽️

Threasa crowley scored the goal of the game from a free kick placing the ball in the top corner but clon finished the game off stronger scoring a 4th and that was that.

Town U15 Girls remain in 2nd and can no longer catch lyre to win the league but will finish their league away to clon Wednesday evening and hopes to finish strong 💪

It’s been a successful season winning the cup but disappointing finishing just short in the league, more motivation to come back stronger next year!! 🔥

There’s been great support all season by parents and overall the girls should be happy with the season
They still have the national cup to look forward to in October⚽️

UNDEFEATED 💪🤩

Dunmanway U14 Girls remain undefeated in the league with a game remaining defeating a strong lyre team 2-1 and making up for the cup final defeat👏🏻🔥

Town started brightly Amelie McCarthy & Faye Barry both getting in behind the defence but Faye Barry broke the deadlock with a great finish after some great build up play involving player of the match Sophie Mawe Downey and Emily Hayes 🤩

Town kept lyre at bay with great defensive work and hard work! Town were leading 1-0 at the break but lyre came out the quicker after half time and a free kick bobbled about before a good finish by lyre⚽️

Town took the lead straight from the tip off
Getting the ball wide to Chloe o Farrell who dribbled past 2 players before a beautiful weighted ball across the box found Rachel o Leary coming in at the back post and blasting it into the net to restore the lead 🔥

This knocked the stuffing out of lyre but both teams continued to probe to find a goal 🥅
Chloe o Farrell came close again as did Emily Hayes but town were happy to see the final whistle and get the 3 points which makes them the u14 premier west cork schoolgirls league champs 🏆🤩

It’s been a terrific season for the girls who’ve worked and trained hard and are deserving champs👏🏻
The team gets great support by parents and club members every game and go into their final game Friday away to Clonakilty where they will look to remain undefeated and get crowed league champs⭐️

DOUBLE TIME 💚⚽️

Both of our Men’s Junior Teams were out on Sunday -

Dunmanway Town FC VS Drinagh Rangers AFC we’re held to a 2-2 draw⚽️
Town found themselves behind after a Drinagh penalty just before halftime. Came out with a different formation in second half and town grew in confidence to take control of the game and we’re back level within 10 minutes of the restart thanks to an Eoin Buckley header 🔥
As town pushed for a winner they were caught once again on the counter attack by a brilliant Drinagh team goal 2-1 down and game wide open.
As Drinagh looked the more likely to score, only for some fantastic footwork by Keith McCarthy to see town be rewarded a penalty of there own Keith scored the rebound after a brilliant save by the keeper🤩
Man of Match was close call between Mark o Driscoll and Keith McCarthy but Keith gets the nod after some fantastic play 👏🏻

Dunmanway Town A VS Aultagh Celtic FC gave the team their first 3 points of the season after a fantastic 5-2 🏆
Captain Alan Crowley led by example from the front and with his goal had town into a comfortable 3-0 lead 🔥Alutagh grew into the game and put some great pressure on towns defence which they held out till half time👏🏻
2 early town goals in the second half and some brilliant play around the middle saw them see out the game comfortable winners to get there first win of the season💚 Man of the match Donnacha Carroll⭐️

END OF SEASON 🩷💚

The u13 girls kicked off their last game with the same enthusiasm and positive attitude that they started the season with🤩💪
On a very wet night against Castlelack the result went our way with a 2-0 win to finish off the league campaign👏🏻🔥

Take pride in yourselves for the effort and commitment shown over the last few months ! Well done all ⭐️

The U14 Girls got back to winning ways with a nice 4-0 victory at home to clon to go top of the league by 1point with 2games left 🤩

The girls got out of the blocks early with a brace by Chloe O Farrell, Good link up play for the goals by Faye Barry and Emily Hayes 👏🏻⭐️
Some sublime finishing from Chloe for both goals 🔥
Emily Hayes then got one for herself with a good pass by Chloe Collins but a great finish from outside of the box going in just under the cross bar ⚽️
Defensively the girls were outstanding keeping clon to 2 shots on target, Mia Duggan was the pick of the bunch💪

The 2nd half town played great football creating chance after chance but it was yet another worldie by Rachel O Leary from well outside the box going in over the keeper that got the 4th and that’s how it finished ✅
The girls were so good at how they approached the game and how they played throughout, Working hard using the ball wisely! 🤩
Creating great chances and working hard to get back into shape and win the ball back when we didn’t have it
The whole squad are all contributing and playing a part at getting the team to the top of the league with two games remaining it’s about staying there 🔥

NO DOUBT 👏🏻💚

Our U10 Greens were away to Skibb and gave it all they got to the very last minutes! 💪

Going behind on the scoreboard early meant our team had to show what they’re about and the skills they have learned all season to come back and win minutes before the final whistle 👏🏻🔥⚽️
