We are still getting over what an incredible few days it has been as we reflect on the European Apprentice Championships 2026! 🇮🇪🏆

From welcoming our wonderful international guests to Ireland, to sharing some unforgettable experiences together, it was so much more than just a day at the races. We were delighted to take our visitors on a trip to the Irish Army Equitation School, followed by a visit to the world-famous Guinness Storehouse — a fantastic opportunity to experience some of the very best of Irish culture, tradition and hospitality! 🇮🇪🍀

And then came the big day at Dundalk Stadium… what an occasion it was! With fantastic racing, an incredible atmosphere and the flags of the competing nations proudly flying, it was a truly special day for everyone involved.

Of course, the highlight for the host nation was seeing our very own Eoin Murphy take home the Gold Medal for Ireland! 🥇🇮🇪 An incredible achievement and a moment that will live long in the memory!

A huge congratulations to all of the competitors who represented their countries with such pride, and a sincere thank you to our international guests, sponsors, officials, volunteers and everyone who played a part in making this event such a memorable success.

We hope all of our visitors enjoyed their time in Ireland as much as we enjoyed having you here! ❤️

Entries for next weekends racing are closing soon!

Racing will be in Annaghmore on Sunday 30th August, with a 4 year old trot.
Racing in Lyre is also on Sunday 30th August.

Entries will close on Monday at 12 midday, with withdrawals being accepted until 12 midday Tuesday.

🇮🇪🏆 CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE! 🏆🇮🇪

On behalf of the Irish Harness Racing Association, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our very own Eoin Murphy on his incredible success in the 2026 European Apprentice Championships! 🇮🇪🙌🏼

With this being Ireland’s first time hosting such a prestigious event, we can now proudly say that it will go down in history as the year the host nation took home the trophy! 🏆🇮🇪 What an incredible achievement and a moment to remember for Irish Harness Racing.

Congratulations also to our fantastic runners-up, Spain 🇪🇸, and to Malta 🇲🇹, who secured third place.

Finally, a huge congratulations to all of our competitors. You represented your nations with tremendous pride and sportsmanship across five amazing races, showcasing the very best of European Harness Racing. 🌍🐎

📢 REMINDER TO ALL TRAINERS, OWNERS, GROOMS & DRIVERS 📢

Please take note of the following important arrangements for Race Day:

* All non-runners MUST be declared by 09.00am at the latest to facilitate the addition of Reserves to the respective Races.

* The Stable Yard will open from 11.00am.

* All Horses MUST be on site by 13.00pm, regardless of the scheduled time of their Race.

* All Horses must be declared prior to entering the Stable Yard and may be subject to a Veterinary Inspection, including Passport Checks, at the point of entry.

* All Horses will be allocated Stables, which will be arranged in Trainer order. A copy of the Stable Plan will be displayed at the entrance to the Stable Yard, both to your Right & Left.
