Irish Open 2026.
The biggest takeaway from our coaches today is we got valuable experience on what worked for people with some changes made to their game leading up to it and what we really need to focus on moving forward as a team.
People competing, then staying back long into the day to watch their training partners compete is a testament to the connections that are strengthened through pursuit of a common goal.
At the end of the day, it is just an avenue to test yourself but having experienced today what is working / useful and what can we change moving forward. We can’t wait to get back to work during the week.
Thank you to everybody who represented the club so well today.

A couple of clips from our class last night with head coach Sebastiao Torres.
Although it is an advanced class, every second Monday we encourage white belts with more experience to stay on after their beginners session beforehand.
Think of more subtle details, to sequences and positions from our 4th Degree Black Belt Head Coach.
The details and specific adjustments that can be given to some of even the more fundamental positions can be game changing.
A couple of our members are even being taught in two different languages!
Hopefully our Portuguese captions are up to scratch 😅

Some good results yesterday in Newry at Empire Grappling. Between white belts getting their first competition exposure to others first tournaments in a couple of years.
It’s a brilliant level tournament to get yourself back into the swing of things or to give it a go and see how you like it.
There’s a good chance you’ll see most of these people at open mats 7pm tonight!
Friday Evenings at 6:30PM is our Muay Thai Sparring session.
It’s a mixed session for those who have been training in other classes throughout the week.
Every week the session is finished with some focused clinch work and feedback, gearing for technical improvement after the sparring rounds.
Beginners Class tonight at 8:30PM if you have been considering getting involved, feel free to drop down for your first FREE class.

Halfway through another good week of training in Dundalk. Wednesday is usually a busy night for both sessions, including a beginner friendly Muay Thai session. Perfect to try out as your first class.
