Built by work. Driven by racing. Showing the graft behind the grid. This is what pays for the track.

What a weekend at Kirkistown.

There were definitely some positives to take away. Qualifying P13 and fighting through to finish 6th in Race 1 was one of my best results yet and earned me pole position for Race 2 with the reverse-grid format. That's something I've been working towards for a long time, so I'm really proud of that.

Unfortunately, Race 2 ended in disappointment after heavy contact left the car with significant front-end damage and a DNF. That's racing, and sometimes these things happen.

What does concern me, though, is the overall standard of driving. There were multiple incidents throughout the weekend, several red flags, and a lot of damaged cars. Even the commentators remarked on how chaotic the racing had become.

This isn't about one driver or one incident. It's something I've experienced from the back of the grid, the middle of the pack, and now at the front. Motorsport is an expensive sport for everyone, and for many of us, every race weekend is paid for through long hours at work. Watching cars being unnecessarily damaged by avoidable contact isn't good for competitors, the championship, or the future of the class.

Wheel-to-wheel racing is what makes this championship exciting, but it also relies on respect. Hard racing and fair racing can exist together.

I genuinely believe the championship has huge potential, but I also believe stronger enforcement of driving standards and consistent penalties for avoidable contact would benefit everyone and help keep drivers on the grid.

For now, it's time to strip the Fiesta down, assess the damage, and hopefully get Car #20 repaired and back out in six weeks.

Thanks to everyone who helped over the weekend and to those who continue to support my racing. We'll rebuild and go again possibly 🤷

Round 2 complete at Mondello Park 🇮🇪

34 cars entered.
Spitting rain at times.
Close racing all weekend.
Qualified P9
🏁 Race 1 – P7
🏁 Race 2 – P9
Definitely my best race meeting to date. Had to work hard for every position and managed to hold off the pressure when it mattered.
A big step forward and plenty of confidence heading into the next round.
