Leinster Rugby Fans

James Lowe. There aren’t enough words in my vocabulary to express my gratitude for all you’ve done in the blue of Leinster, the green of Ireland and indeed, the red of The Lions. You leave us as our top try scorer, with a back pocket bursting at the seams with medals for all of the teams I just mentioned. Not only an exceptional talent and work horse, but a man who always played this wonderful game with a smile on your face. You deserved so much more than what you got when it came time to discuss a new contract and I hope you realise how much we, the fans, appreciate you. I for one am devastated to see you go. There is one more game to go before you turn the page on this Leinster and Ireland chapter and we’ll be there to cheer you on for the last time. Hopefully it ends with another trophy in your arms. So from me and from Leinster fans far and wide, thank you James Lowe. Nobody will ever fill your boots. Good luck on your next adventure in Japan 💙.

You win some, you lose some. I planned on taking a season off from this page after last years URC triumph, but given what was on the line today, I felt the need to post something. My love for Leinster Rugby knows no bounds. I tried to play it cool today and pretend that I wasn’t too bothered, but in the end, this is what I love the most. I would die to see my beloved Leinster win a fifth star. It is the trophy we crave the most, but in the end, other teams have the right to win it too. We may, as a team and as a fan base, want to win it more than anyone else, but that does not give us the right. When the day finally comes, I will shed tears like I did today. Leinster are giants of European Rugby. Pay no attention to outside media outlets or to opposition fans. We belong at the top table and this team’s defiance to give up on this dream should run through all of us. Bordeaux Bègles are the deserved champions and they are a generational team. Congratulations to them. We’ll be back. I cannot wait to see Leinster Rugby back in the RDS next season. As dark as it feels now, just know that there is a twelve county army behind you. Roll on the URC playoffs. 💙
