We were delighted to welcome Nikki Gallagher CEO of the Irish Cancer Society to our clubhouse on Saturday morning. She chatted to members on what survivorship looks like for some of us and was brave enough to try one of our paddle machines. Nikki was invited in by fellow ICS board member Maria Fleming who is herself a proud Plurabelle.
26 of our members travelled to Prague to take part in the regatta taking place there this weekend. Watch our stories today and tomorrow for updates on their performance. We still had 2 full boats out today training at the dock, we are with you all the way Team Prague.
Huge congratulations to Linda, recipient of the Spirit of the Plurabelle award this year. She was celebrated with Fiona Tiernan's husband Eamonn and son Oscar, our very first drummer, in today's ceremony!

A huge congratulations to all the amazing strong women who earned their place on the Irish International Women’s Dragon Boat Team especially to our very own Tara. We are incredibly proud of Tara and hope everyone will join us in cheering her, and the team, along every step of their journey.

🌟 Club Spotlight of the Week:
This week we are celebrating Ireland's first dragon boat club - Plurabelle Paddlers, a team known for their spirit, determination and warm welcome to paddlers of all abilities.
Here’s a quote from one of their members: “Dragon boating gave me a community I didn’t know I needed.” Thank you for everything you bring to Irish dragon boating!

Winter Safety Reminder:
Winter paddling can be magical, but safety always comes first. A few reminders for the colder months:
• Wear your PFD at all times & make sure it is done up properly.
• Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Gloves & a hat are essential clothing items during the winter months.
• Keep moving during the training. It is an ideal time for those longer aerobic endurance sessions. Keep the rest periods short.
• Follow your club’s cold water protocols.
Let’s look after each other so we can enjoy every stroke this season.
