Never underestimate Kells šŸ«”

Massive congrats to Coach Roger on taking 1st place at the ADCC Amateur World Championship over the weekend in the Master 45+ Pro division

Roger asked us not to make a big deal out of it and said we definitely werenā€™t getting any inspirational quotes off himā€¦

He did say however that he had two solid matches, gained great mat XP, and now has fresh insights to bring back to our athletes ā€¦ he also said heā€™ll be back to work at RGA Dublin tonight šŸ˜…

At RGA, we constantly encourage our athletes to test their skills, embrace the nerves, and go learn in live action so itā€™s great to see Roger put the RGA ethos into practice on the international stage

All things evolve with time but how does your jiu-jitsu change with age?

We asked RGA Black Belt and veteran of the mats to give us some insights on how his jiu-jitsu has changed as heā€™s gotten older

Anthony Rogers ā€” Royal Grappling Academy Black Belt
July 2026

A huge congratulations to Anthony on earning his black belt.

Anto walked through the doors of RGA as a complete beginner over ten years ago and has been one of the clubā€™s most consistent members ever since. Never one for the spotlight, he has simply put his head down, trained hard and let his Jiu-Jitsu do the talking.

One of his biggest strengths is his technical approach to grappling. Everything he does is measured, efficient and precise. While many people plateau after years on the mats, Anthony has done the opposite. Over the last couple of years his game has gone to another level, proving that there is always more to learn if youā€™re willing to keep showing up.

Black belts arenā€™t just recognised for what they can do technically, but for the standards they set every day in the gym. Anthony has always been someone other RGA students can rely on, and heā€™s a perfect example of the consistency and attitude we value at RGA.

A thoroughly deserved achievement šŸ„‹

Stephen Allis, Royal Grappling Academy Black Belt
July 2026

Massive congratulations to Stephen on this amazing achievement. He started with us on day one as a complete beginner and has given 100% every day since!

It takes a very special kind of resilience to earn a black belt, while working full time as a teacher. Through all the busy days, exam season rushes and general life stress he always made time for the mats

Stephen is as tough as nails, but most importantly he is a gentleman. We expect our athletes to treat everyone with respect, and Stephen is the perfect example of that

He is a fantastic grappler as well as a great person, and he has completely earned this belt. We are very proud to have him in our ranks as a blackbelt šŸ„‹

Itā€™s an honour and pleasure to be able to watch our students grow as both athletes and people

Our latest grading was only a glimpse of the effort and determination these people put in day in and day out on the mats and we couldnā€™t be prouder of the club and the people in it

Congratulations to everyone who got their belt and stripes šŸ§”

History made!!!šŸ„‹

Huge congratulations to Sally, the first female black belt from Royal Grappling Academy!

Achieving this alongside working full-time, raising many kids, and running the Navan kidsā€™ programme is nothing short of incredible.

ā€œThis is a watershed moment for the clubā€ - Paul Fox
ā€œSally has spent over ten years proving us wrong every single time we underestimated her. She is the absolute definition of resilience.ā€ - Roger Dardis
