An amazing accomplishment by one of our active ageing girls “Two years ago I could just about lift a half case of Sauvignon Blanc. This is what happens when you start hanging out with a certain crowd, specifically that mob down at .ie .ie - take a bow Rob et al!!! 👏
(for those not in Ireland, free travel on all public transport is the reward for surviving 66 summers here!)
Also, I’m wearing compression on my right leg for primary lymphoedema. Nine months post VLNT surgery and doing really well but still need that additional bit of help.
Next stop, a pull-up!”

Staff Training | Coach .fanning1
Today’s session focused on knee health and the structured return to training following ACL surgery.
Ailene guided the team through a progressive approach — from foundational strength movements to plyometrics — designed to develop strength, speed, and athlete confidence.
Thank you, Ailene, for an informative and valuable session.

Summer’s wrapping up, but the real work continues.
Staying on track with your program is always easier when you’re part of a team. That’s why we’re bringing the community together on Saturday, 22nd August.
Community Day Schedule:
• The Edge Games kick off at 9am
• Community BBQ at Clontarf Rugby Club from 3pm — bring the family!
Book your spot in The Edge Games via the app and let’s finish the summer strong together.
See you there.

We’re starting the month strong with two great opportunities to challenge yourself and see real progress.
Measure Up kicks off on August 1st and runs for six weeks. This body composition challenge includes caliper measurements with your coach, focused nutrition management, and a clear target to hit. Set your goal, track your progress, and see the results.
We’re also training hard for the Edge Games on 22nd August — a full challenge day of strength and cardio that will test what you’re made of.
Both take place in our usual challenging yet fun environment, where you push your limits while enjoying the process and the people training alongside you.
Ready to get started? Let us know if you’re in for Measure Up, the Edge Games, or both.

One of the most rewarding aspects of strength training is that it is truly accessible to all. No matter your age, background, or starting point, there is always room to grow.
What makes it especially powerful is the constant progression. With each session, you can improve — lifting a little more, moving with better control, or building greater confidence.
Wherever you are in your journey, know that consistent effort delivers meaningful results.

Today our team had an excellent training session with physiotherapist , who shared valuable insights on managing knee pain.
Michael covered key topics including:
• Effective strategies for dealing with knee pain
• Pre- and post-surgery exercise protocols
• Recognising important red flags
• Practical knee testing techniques
The session was really informative and directly applicable to our daily work. A big thank you to Michael for his time and expertise!
We’re already looking forward to welcoming him back soon for a follow-up session on hip-related issues.
