⚽️UEFA Futsal Champions League :
🇬🇷Doukas - Blue Magic FC 🇮🇪3:2
Scored BM : Micoski , Leo
🔵✊A BRAVE, brave performance from Blue Magic FC was not enough as they went down to a narrow defeat at the hands of Greek champions Doukas in Athens on Saturday evening.
🇮🇪👩💼A guest of honour at the match was Irish Ambassador to Greece Ciara O'Floinn along with her children who cheered on the Irish side from the spectator gallery.
⚽️This was by far the best performance of the FAI Futsal Cup Champions and they went very close to causing a massive upset against the strong favourites to advance to the main round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League.
⚽️After the disappointment of losing to London Genesis on Match Day 1 they bounced back to overcome Sparta Belfast on Match Day 2, but even in defeat, this was performance where the squad showed a huge measure of pride in the jersey and took the game to their professional opponents and were only edged out in a very tight game by the narrowest of margins.
⚽️Scoreless at the interval Blue Magic had Rolim Vinicius to thank as he saved a first half penalty from Bertuola in the 17th minute after they conceded a sixth foul.
🧤The Blue Magic goalkeeper narrowed the angle coming off his line and took the ball full in the ribs which saw him replaced by Guilherme Cardoso.
🔵Blue Magic had gone head to head with Doukas and it was impossible to distinguish who was the higher seeded team and both created chances and the AUL side gave as good as they got over that opening 20 minutes of all action play.
⚽️The second half started with both sides looking for that opening goal. Doukas only needed a point to guarantee advancing, but finally the Blue Magic rearguard was breached and goals from Ensi, Martins and Bertuola in the 27, 28th and 29th minutes left the Irish representatives in Europe's biggest futsal competition with a mountain to climb - despite creating many shots on goal, their luck just wouldn't fall their way.
⚽️Matheus Leonardes however gave them hope with a cleverly worked free kick.that completely flummoxed Doukas as a training routine paid a handsome dividend. That goal came in the 29th minute and a sixth foul against Doukas allowed Gabriel Yan Micoski Lucas to rattle the back of the home side's net with a powerful strike in the 34th minute.
🇬🇷Doukas were rattled -and like Blue Magic were on the five foul count mark. Sinisa Sicar opted for a 'fly keeper' with Victor Calderon donning the fly keeper jersey.
The Irish side pressed hard to level the game in those closing minutes - and their efforts deserved at least a share of the spoils - but it was not to be and the home side hung on for a narrow win to book their spot in the Main Round where they now face a trip to Poland.
⚽️This was a highly entertaining clash of two excellent sides but once again Blue Magic have come out the wrong side of narrow margins. But there's a lot to be positive about.Three years ago the same opposition recorded a 7-2 victory over the Dublin side.
⚽️Today there was little to choose between the two opponents - and Blue Magic ARE getting closer to that elusive breakthrough to the main round.

🇬🇷UEFA Futsal Champions League - DAY REST 🌞🌞🌞
🔵No game action but plenty to do for Blue Magic Futsal
⚽️THERE was a break from the playing action in the UEFA Futsal Champions League qualifiers for Blue Magic Futsal in Athens on Friday, but the day was mixed with a stretching session along with a visit to a nearby beach for a most welcome swim in the Aegean.
⚽️The stretching session was supervised by club physio Marcelo Vargas while physios Tobiasz Malara Oleszek and Alexandr Doloscan were also on duty in the dedicated medical room to administer rubs to some aching limbs following Thursday's 5-4 triumph over Sparta Belfast.
⚽️The FAI Futsal Champions return to action Saturday when they face Doukas, the Greek champions - and favourites to advance to the main round.
⚽️The AUL side know it will take a big performance if they are to spring an upset, but that is the mindset Sinisa Sicar's squad is adopting.
⚽️A swim in the nearby Aegean Sea relaxed sore muscles but also a brief 'down time' window for the squad.
😂😂A traditional 'Rookie' ceremony was held in the evening when four UEFA Champions League debutantes - Bilo Rolim Vinicius, Renen Henriquie Cardeal, Gustavo Pereira Da Silva and physio Tobiasz Malara- Oleszek were put under the spotlight by the other squad members and staff😆
😂The quartet were grilled with some difficult questions and situations - asked to sing a song or tell a joke - but all an excellent team bonding exercise with lots of laughs throughout.
🔵🔵Blue Magic's match against Doukas will kick-of at 7pm (5pm Irish) and will be livestreamed by Doukas Futsal on their Youtube page.

⚽️UEFA Futsal Champions League :
Sparta Belfast - Blue Magic FC 4:5
Scored BM : Byrne 2, Calderon 2,Saldanha
🔵Blue Magic FC kept their hopes of progression to the main round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League alive with a thrilling 5-4 win over Sparta Belfast in Athens this afternoon.
🔵🔵Apart from the valuable points on offer, there was also the little matter of bragging right with the FAI champions taking on their IFA Champions - despite the Group F game going ahead in Greece.
⚽️It was a 'must win' match for both sides in an effort to bring it to the final day - on Saturday when Blue Magic face the hosts Doukas, the Greek champions and Sparta tackle Genesis of London.
⚽️This was a fascinating battle as both sides locked horns and went into battle and both are to be complimented for the fascinating spectacle they produced.
🔵Blue Magic skipper Ian Byrne led front the front and netted two first half goals - the second a brilliant strike from his own endline spotting Sparta keeper Matthew McElrain off his line and Byrne's audacious effort sailed the length of the court and dipped under the crossbar as the retreating netminder ended up in the back of his own net.
🔵Byrne had netted from an acute angle dowen the right hand channel squeezing the ball home in the fourth minute to give the FAI Champions the lead.
⚽️Sparta, who included 16-year-old Luke Greer in their squad, hit back to level through Josh Lowry and although Blue Magic saw lots of possession, the Belfast side were a difficult side to break down.
⚽️Byrne's second gave the AUL side the interval lead but Sparta were back on level terms 48 seconds into the second period when Bolbot shot past Romin in the Magic goal.
The ever reliable Gabriel Saldahna restored Blue Magic's lead in the 25th minute showing great dribbling skill to get in on goal and fire home past McElrain in the Northern Ireland team's net.
⚽️The Sparta goalkeeper was then involved in a bit of controversy as he was red-carded for a challenge on Gustavo outside of his area with the match officials deeming it a last man challenge.
⚽️Replacement goalkeeper, Horatiu Puica, a Romanian, was only on the pitch a matter of seconds before he was picking the ball out of his net after Victor Calderon's vicious effort on goal squirmed under his body and bounced into the net.
⚽️Just 22 seconds later hesitation and confusion in the Sparta rereguard saw Calderon pick the ball up and from close in was able to roll the ball into an empty net with Puica stranded in 'no man's land.'
⚽️The 5-2 advantage looked as if it would be enough to see Sinisa Sicar's side home - but goalkeeper Bilo Rolin Vinicius picked up a yellow as did Arkadiusz Bogdaniuk and goals from Ryan McMenemy and Ukranian Oleksii Bolbot reduced the arrears to the bare minimum with seven minutes left to play.
⚽️Matheus Minatti and Mattheus Leonardes put in huge shifts for Blue Magic with their running and covering - indeed Iago Marabezi, Johnatan Beraldo and Gustavo Pereira Da Silva were excellent too.
⚽️🧤Goalkeeper Vinicius Rolim was making his UEFA Futsal champions League debut and acquitted himself very well making several excellent saves over the course of the game with Sparta generating 24 shots to Blue Magic's 18.
⚽️Ian Byrne now has 14 goals in UEFA Futsal Champions League games while Victor Calderon has nine goals to his credit.
Today is a rest day for the Blue Magic squad but they will face their toughest test on Saturday when they take on tournament favourites Doukas at what is sure to be a packed DAIS Hall where there is a 7pm local time (5pm Irish).
With both sides on five-fouls it was a cagey and nervous finish but Blue Magic held on for a narrow but deserved victory.

⚽️UEFA Futsal Champions League :
🇮🇪Blue Magic FC - 🇬🇧Genesis London 4:7
Scored BM : Byrne 2, Beraldo, Gustavo
🔵⚽️Blue Magic suffered an opening day defeat going down 7-4 to Genesis of London in their opening game of three in the UEFA Futsal Champions League in Athens this afternoon.
🇬🇧Genesis, making their Champions League debut, made a mockery of their fourth seed ranking to outscore and out muscle the FAI Champions in a fiercely competitive match at the DAIS Hall.
Things had looked a tad different when skipper Ian Byrne fired the AUL side in front in the third minute but Sinisa Sicar's side were unable to build on that early advantage.
⚽️Insead, Genesis hit back to take the lead through goals from Eduardo Antonio Tijerin Lopez in the seventh minute and one from defender Calvin Dickson in the 12th minute.
🔵Blue Magic were seeing plenty of possession but found sights of goal at a premium as a well set-up Genesis defended very aggressively. That physicality saw the fouls mount up and were on a five foul count within 10 minutes of the opening half, but they managed well shutting down many of Blue Magic's attacks - while several challenges went unpunished by match official Ingus Purins of Latvia and Albanian Albano Stolaj - much to the frustration of Blue Magic.
⚽️Gustavo Pereira da Silva however levelled for the Irish side with a spectacular volley from inside his own net with the Genesis netminder out of position.
Byrne, Minatti and Leonardes all had efforts on the Genesis goal but In the final seconds of the half Eduardo Amorin gave the Londoners an advantage that would ultimately, not lose.
⚽️Blue Magic enjoyed much more possession in the second period and Matheus Minatti, Matheus Leonardes and Victor Calderon all had efforts saved by goalkeeper Ruda Orozco.
Two goals in a minute however left Blue Magic with a mountain to climb as Ivan Cadete-Borges and Eduardo Antonio Tijerin Lopez in the 26th minute gave Genesis 5-2 advantage.
Genesis then had Diogo da Silva red carded in the 29th minute and although Blue Magic dominated with the extra man, Genesis held firm for the two minutes before being restored to the full complement.
⚽️Johnathan Beraldo gave the FAI Futsal Champions some hope, reducing the score to 5-3 in the 32nd minute and skipper Byrne weighed in with his second in the 34th minute to reduce the score to 5-4 to set up what we hoped was a late, late Blue Magic rally.
Coach Sinisa Sicar went to a fly-keeper in a five man press as Victor Calderon replaced Guilherme Cardoso in an effort to chase down the Genesis advantage. On the counter Cardoso was back in goal but Angel Antelo Martinez's angled shot flew past the goalkeeper to give the English side a two goal advantage.
Back came Blue Magic with Calderon as a fly keeper but after Gabriel Saldahna and Beraldo had efforts blocked down, the ball fell kindly for the English champions and Genesis broke clear ,and, with an open goal, Eduardo Antonio Tijerin Lopez stroked the ball home into the empty net to seal Genesis' success.
🔵Blue Magic are back in action today when they face Sparta Belfast at the same venue. Sparta lost their opening game to the hosts Doukas on a three-nil scoreline and tomorrow's game, in reality, is a must win game for the Athletic Union League side who will include Gabriel Yan micoski who sat out today's game as a result of a one game ban carried over from last year's campaign in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
🧊🧊ICE COLD IN ATHENS - BUT IT'S 38 DEGRESS OUTSIDE 🌞🌞
🛀WITH under 24 hours before Blue Magic's next encounter against Sparta Belfast, the Blue Magic squad were straight into ice baths on return to their Athens Venue Hotel.
Under the supervision of physios Marcello Vargas, Alexandr Doloscan and Tobiasz Malara Oleszek every member of the squad had to endure a chilling dip in an ice-bath in an effort to adi muscle recovery.
