Today reminded me that some of the best things in life are wonderfully ordinary.

I often feel guilty doing nothing.
I always think I should be exploring more, working more or making the most of every minute.
But this week Iāve done something a bit madā¦
Nothing.
Well⦠apart from floating in the sea, eating Italian food, enjoying gelato and lying under a parasol.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, I realised somethingā¦
Rest isnāt wasted time.
Sometimes itās exactly what our bodies are craving. Itās also an opportunity to hear ourselves think again.
We spend so much of life rushing from one thing to the next.
Maybe the bravest thing we can do every now and then⦠is simply slow down. ā¤ļø
Do you ever struggle to give yourself permission to do absolutely nothing?
Iāve learnt not to wait until my life is falling apart before I look after myself. ā¤ļø
We spend so much of our lives waitingā¦
Waiting until weāre exhausted.
Waiting until weāre overwhelmed.
Waiting until weāre burnt out.
Looking after yourself shouldnāt be something you do when youāre running on empty/ feeling overwhelmed.
It should be part of how you live.
This week, my therapy looks like sunshine, sea and switching off for a few days. āļøšš®š¹
Yours might be a walk in nature, a coffee with a friend, a yoga class, a good book or simply an hour to yourself.
Whatever it is⦠donāt wait until your life is falling apart to make yourself a priority. ā¤ļø

I didnāt write a memoir.
I wrote the book I wish someone had handed me when I felt stuck.
Itās about learning to stop waiting for someone else to make you happy.
Itās about believing your best years might still be ahead of you.
Itās about taking responsibility for your own life.
My bike and travel were just part of the story.
The real journey was learning to build a life I genuinely wanted to wake up to.

Because I believe the best group trips let you be part of the groupā¦
